no track times... I would guesstimate mid 11s with the 5spd. Not sure on the auto.

 

have you topped out 3rd yet ? what's the mph?

 

My combo sounds like it makes similar power to yours and I have 3.55's with a 4R and 28" tire. Seems to be about right. I'd think it would run the same with 3.27's thought.

What stall converter are you going to run. Lockup? If you dont mind me asking. I am going to run a 4r70w behind my turbo 351 this summer, and I have yet to get a converter. I plan on using 3.27 gears but that is only because that is what's in the car now.

I had 3.55s and it seemed to shift too quickly... Recently blew that rear up. I found one with 3.08s for $100 bucks so thats going in for now until I build a "real" rear... I guess this will give me a feel for what gear I want.

I am running a lockup converter. With a 4r apparently there is no loss to running lockup so why not?

Third is 1:1 so what it tops out is irrelelvent transmission wise? I would think about 14x mph

 

I have a 3400 PTC Lockup.

 

I have a Precision Industries lockup that goes about 4600

 

I run a 331, 3600ish stall triple disc lockup, gt47-88, 15-18psi, 3.08 gears, 139.58 in the 1/4, on little 17" DR's. If I come across some 3.27's I may try them. I also have not tried the lockup yet...

 

gen1 do you think the 3.08s are holding you back?

 

Yea a little as I have 2.0 short times the last time out. It was on a sloppy track and cold. I would like to try a prepped track launching with a little boost. I had a couple 1.49 60' on a warm day launching in boost with the 306. I think that 3.27's would be ideal.
