Which turbo would you fit on a race engine in a light body ? Celica Under 1200 kg / 2650 Lb..
    Thinking GT42 or S400 aiming up to 1000 h.p . Trans will be 3 speed auto C4....
No engine or block strength issues....

mmmmm nice graham, GT42-02 1.23 or so maybe, those things rev nicely man, and with light car you'd want some lag to help it launch, maybe the s400 with its bigger turbine might help it launch.

you building something for the strip?

Yep!!! With auto and light body.. Not sure if RX7 would have high enough bonnet wise but its not going to be road registered...
I have bought two engines, one front cut and another for spares or developement.. Easier to fab manifolds with complete engine on stand...Whatever body I'll design front end so its easy to work on.. As in 3/4 chassis... Will have to check rules on that though?? How I go about it..
May convert Celica front wheel drive to rwd using some Supra parts and some chassis fabrication....Have a few options??

Cool, I'm busy turbocharging the same engine, only I'm using a nissan 180sx body. I'm fitting a T72 for now with a q-trim turbine wheel and a 0.81 A/R turbine housing. Not really a 1000hp turbo but it'll for for me as mine a street/strip car.

What is this 4.0 out of? How much will it take with the stock parts?

They were found in the Lexus LS400, sc400, Toyota Celsior and a couple more. Stock they come with a steel crank, 6 bolt main caps, forged rods, 4 cams 32valve, 70mm TB, ribbed block, 90deg V8. So stock it's a strong engine. I would say 500hp on a stock engine is possible(with the correct fuel) but then there's always a risk it might break. Fitting aftermarket parts(that's difficult to find) it will be a reliable 500hp or even higher engine.
