    This thread reminded me of the one I always use on forums so I changed it back. Gadsden flag is my desktop.

    I know vBulletin can do animated avatars, as other sites I'm on has them. My "Bring Back the Washing Machine" campaign starts now!

    Animate = larger file sizes. I can turn it on, but it was turned off as part of the many speed optimizations I've done for the site. Things like that really impact dialup and our overseas visitors (our 3nd largest user base is Australia).

    US average page load time: < 5sec
    Australia and most of Europe is: 8 - 20 sec.

    Studies show roughly about 10% of visitors bounce (leave the site before going further) every 1 second above an initial 3-5 second wait. Unfortunately, overseas has little to do with technology and more with physics and the number of hops between the server and them.

    I'll change it in VBulletin's :attention: settings to allow it and will see how it impacts things.
