Can anyone help me find a rebuild kit for this turbo and also a smaller exhaust a/r housing. The turbine housing on the turbo now is 1.32 I am looking for something around .58 to .60

One of the vendors here should be able to help. If you pull the housings, and measure the wheels that should also tell you what it is. Most likely a p trim turbine, so a turbine housing shouldn't be too tough to source. The kits for these are also pretty standard, and can be found from one of the site's sponsors, or ebay.

Thanks. I will get it apart tomorrow and measure it when I get to work then post what it is. Thanks for helping me out I don't really know much about turbo specs but I'm trying.

Well I couldn't get the hot side off today but I measured the compressor side and the exducer is 2.94" and inducer is 2.21" I'm not sure how to calculate the trim for that either. Thanks for the help!

I would guess its a 57 trim to4e. A 57 specs out as 2.230, and 2.950. Most of these were P trim turbines which measure 2.544, and 2.922.

Alright thanks. i will try to get the exhaust side off tomorrow I have it soaking in wd-40 to try and get it apart. Also i keep seeing threads online about balancing a turbo when you take it apart. If it has no damage and its just the oil seals that are mainly bad then should i have to balance it if i mark everything when taking it apart? Thanks!

You'll hear both ways... if you mark everything, I don't see an issue with it. Many turbos are component balanced before assembly, and I have mixed, and matched used parts before, and have yet to have an issue with the miles I have put on them. That being said, balancing is always the correct method.

That's great I'll probably be getting the kit...what about a turbine housing more like .61 a/r?

That is a P trim wheel, and i'm curious as to why turbo kits said there are no turbine housings that will work.... I have done it a few times, and have personally swapped a 1.32 for a .68.

I don't know much about the vr6... is the 57 trim compressor a good match for it? Most running a 57 trim, would be running a t3/t4 hybrid.

Yeah they max out at about 450 fwhp at about 20 psi. And the P trim is a good fit as well?

From what I have read online the average turbo they use is a p-trim so hopefully it'll work alright once I find a good hot side. Thanks

Ahhh, P-Trim, perfect, we were going by the CHRA & Turbo part #s which were not coming up in the Garrett catalog. The measurements are the key. Unfortunately we only sell brand name Garrett Turbos, CHRA & housings (Precision, Turbonetics, etc. as well) and won’t be able to compete with EBAY generic branded part prices. A Garrett T4 Turbine Housing (P-trim) w/3" V-Band Outlet Divided .70, .84, 1.00 or, Undivided .61, .70 would be $228.00. Thanks.
