    Putting a stock LY6 into my 91 camaro. 3300# with a T56.

I'm only looking for about 550rwhp. What I really want is instant boost and big gains in the 2500-5000 rpm area. Its going to be a drive to work/beater car.

I've done a lot of looking and 76mm seems pretty popular but supports way more power than I need. But, I know I also don't want to be near the limits either due to heat.

I have lots of semi turbos around.....

I'm thinking about an s300 with a 68-72mm compressor. Can I get one that big? Haven't heard back from BW.

One thing to check, many of the Turbo's people advertise as 76mm aren't near that big. As an example we ordered two GT45 76mm and the both were 69mm 50 trim 98 exhaust housing when actually measured. In my case it should be a good match with one of the 69mm on a 4.8/5.3 LS engine. Good luck! JD

They do make a 76, and an 80mm version of the gt45. The $200 version is the 69mm, and the 76/80 are more like $5-600. If you paid for a 76, and got a 69 i'd be upset.

Some make what they call a s370, or 372, but as far as I know they're S400 based with a 83, or 87mm turbine vs the true s300's smaller frame. Bullseye makes a small frame s368, but its a billet wheel, and is much more expensive than the std 366.

The deal we got for both Turbos in the box un-used was only $325.00 so we didn't complain too much. I took them in on trade/partial payment on a cylinder head port job. JD

How would a s472 with 83mm turbine do? Should make more power than I want, but how will it spool?

It will be determined by the exhaust housing A/R... What size does it have?

With an A/R 1.10 wouldn't it be hard to build boost down low? I'm curious to see with the CID of the engine how a larger Exhaust housing will affect the boost. JD

I have no idea what I need. Most importantly I want a quick spool, but not so much that I can't keep the tires from blowing off, yet still make 650 rwhp if I want. With a stock cam, or maybe a slight step above, my peak rpms probably won't be more than 6k.

I don't know jack about turbos and I'm not really interested. I could read for months and still not be a professional.

It will be in a t56 car, so I think I would rather be on the low side. I like to short shift.

What kind of power do you think it would max out at?

Thank you for the help guys, I appreciate it. I'm going to order it from a local turbo shop. Hopefully he agrees that it's what I'm looking for.

I run that exact motor , when I first put the car together I ran a s475 , 83 turbine and 1.10 housing. Very responsive , I wouldnt use anything else for the power your looking for. My car is daily driven.
    This was with that turbo
