I'm considering doing a small block Chevy with twin turbos. I'm curious as to which holsets I should use. I'm thinking 2 H1C or HX35...truck will be set up for 1/8th mile. What would you guys suggest on turbos. I'm not looking for crazy hp, just somewhere in the 600-800 range. Any help would be necessary so thanks in advance...

Man I just bought a WH1C holset and I must say it is an awesome turbo.. Have you ever thought of using a single WH1C with a bigger 21 cm exhaust housing instead of twins ??The smaller one i got on my car is the 12cm housing very similar to the hx35... I actually have a 21cm exhaust housing with a 3 in V band if you find a nice used WH1C you can pair it with...The wh1cs are very much interchangeable and some come with anti surge ports that make the impeller look bigger than it really is 4inch baby! Holset measure aspect ratio (A/R) in cm if I were to guess IDE say the 21 cm housing is about a .96 A/R

Come on, dude. You're really going to recommend a single for 600-800hp?

Well yeah way easier to run 1wastegate 1 oil feed 1 oil drain as long as you can get it to supply the CFM I don't see why it wouldn't work... 5.0's can easily crack the block at 500 hp on 6-8 psi. these holsets were designed to supply a DESIEL WITH OVER 40 psi I don't see why 600 hp is not obtainable he said nothing crazy......

H1C has what, a 54mm or so wheel? What kind of SBC are we working with here? I'd maybe put one on a 283, but that'd be about it.

My WH1c has a 65mm compressor wheel.... I don't know if the H1C are different or not.. I was told the compressor wheel was a .72 A/R and the exhaust housing would be .96 AR.. Which are put on v8s all the time.... Low boost I don't see why it wouldn't work if you want over 10 psi it would prolly be out of its efficiency..

Possibly doing a 383 sbc, running twin h1c's unless they wouldn't be efficient enough...

H1es may be a better choice. Or throw some h1e comps on the h1cs later on.

    H1C vs HX35 HX35 hands down. Use 2 HX35's

You shouldn't be recommending turbos to anybody if you think one of those is capable of 600+hp. Your entire post is wrong. Of course, a single is easier but it absolutely will not make 600hp. Try reading a compressor map. I'm not even getting into the turbine side of it.

    Everything I've seen says a wh1c has a 56mm compressor.

Twin H1Cs will probably get you to 600 no problem, 800 might be asking a lot though. Probably wanna go with the larger housings, I have a 21cm housing laying around if you need one.
    Then it's not an WH1C. H1E/HX40s don't even get above 60mm.

No, an h1c will not make 500hp on a 5.0, and even less on a 383. Trying to help is fine but what you're saying is flatout wrong.

    You're either measuring wrong or it's not a wh1c.
