doable?? building a 317 headed iron block with wiseco pistons and callies rods hung a stock crank. Its going in a 3000 pound G-body with a 400 with a brake. Just wondering if I can run a 1.00 housing 101 at 20 psi max and make decent power.

that 101 sounds a little too big for ur 370 to me. spool would be pretty slow and violent when it does come on at oh say 4500.

how much power do u want? im sure a 80mm or even a 88mm would be fine.

I already have the turbo, and the exhaust wheel was redone for a smaller cube motor. The car it came off of was 358 inches and was at full spool at 3800 rpm's. Looking to make 1000 to 1100 RWHP. I know I can do it with a GT4788, but I'm going to try this out.

im sure the compressor side of that turbo is capable of 1000rwhp, i say give it a shot since u have it already. just pair with a good spec'd conveter.

I'm sure it will make decent power but its not going to be as efficient as a 88-91-ish mm turbo setup that will do your goals.

how mild is the 370? what cam and intake setup you running? What rpm range you plan to turn? use that information to determine where in the compressor map you will end up, then you can get an idea what to expect.

iron 6 liter block, calles 6.125 rods, wiseco -13cc turbo pistons 9.3:1, stock crank. Mildly ported 317 heads. O ringed block. Cam motion .587/.600 116 turbo cam. 1-3/4 tube headers running to a 1/2 inch crossover. This turbo is a Prescion custom made 101 for a smaller cube motor. On a 373 LSX it was at full boost at 3800-4000 rpm.

101 is a lil large a 80mm or 88 will do that...not to mention your goana spit out the headgaskets with those 317's first

I will definately NOT spit out heads gaskets. Not with what I'm doing to the block.

i think youll have power from 4200-7500 with that hp range and the 1.0 housing. your going to be right on the edge of the sweat spot on that 101 so its not going to be as efficient as a 91mm would be, but it will still haul ass. dont expect that crank to really hold up to those power levels though. if your going to do work on the block why not just spend the few extra hundred bucks for a crank?

whats the duration on the cam? i think you will need to spin it up pretty high to use that turbo.

He won't have to spin it hard. 7500-8000 which is about what I'm planning on spinning

I've seen these guys run the stock cranks up to 22 pounds of boost at around 1100 horsepower, so I'll try my luck. Lol. If I can make close to 1000 on 18 pounds, so be it. If not I'll just go with an gt4788.
