I am building a TT 5.4 DOHC with FORD GT heads and FORD GT cams shooting for 1000HP. I understand the GT35R is a better turbo and ball bearing, but it appears either would support my goal, and the maps aren't that different (from my limited knowledge of reading maps).

    GT3582R
    Ball Bearing.
    82mm 56 Trim, .70 A/R wheel
Comes with T4 style inlet flange.
    V-Band outlet

    GT4082
    Non-Ball Bearing.
    82mm 50 Trim, .94 A/R wheel.
Comes with T4 style divided inlet flange.
    V-Band outlet

Twin GT3582R turbos are about $2,800. Twin GT4082 turbos are about $1,700. Anyone have experience with both or can tell me if the $$ is worth it as i am already going to be way over spent...

    Thanks,

    Michael

id go with the gt3582r turbochargers. More efficient thru the map and with a 1.06 ar it will flow more on the turbine side than a 4082 will. Is this a street car? If so Id think about using .82 ar on the turbine side.

I can also save you about 200.00 on the gt3582r's. :2thumbs:

You might also look into a pair of Precision SC6152'S as i believe they are a non Ball bearing version of the GT3582R. And I believe there are a nice looking pair of them in the Classified section.
