    Hi guys,

I may not be posting this in the right spot, or maybe even not in the right forum, but you guys always have great advise.

I would like to put a cage in my Fox body and would like some guidance on how to do it proerley. I have access to all the equipment I would need to build one an le knowledge to use it.

    1) diameter of tubing (thinking sch 40 pipe diameter?)
    2) how many points do I need to run low 10's high 9's
3)how do you install and weld all the way around the tube when the cage is in the car.
    4) how do you keep from burning holes in the headliner.
    5) is there anyway to run a factory seat and still be legal for low 10s

    1 5/8 in moly

    10pt cert'd to 8.50

Some drop down thru floor, weld partially then finish in place etc.

We used heavy cardboard 1st time, removed headliner 2nd one

Yes, you can use factory seats

What would be used as far as mild steel?

Did you leave the headliner out of it the second time or did you have some way to install it after?

One other thing I wanted to ask.

How much clearance does one need to fit the 4.8 truck intake under the Fox hood?

Has anyone gotten away with cutting a hole and letting it stick out? Do they have pics?

You can use mild and can be mig'd. My 1st 10pt was done this way.

The headliner would fit barely above the cage.

I have seen them under and thru the hood, check denmah's fairmonts for thru the hood

Honestly I would order a Wolfe cage and call it done. You will still have to weld it in, but they make a great cage for the fox and will even notch the tubes for you. Just what I did on mine.

The only problem I run into with that is shipping, I live in Canada and it would cost a fortune to ship something like that to me.

Does anyone know of any retailers for cages in Canada???

I gotcha. It was not cheap getting it shipped across country to me here either, but I think in the end it was worth it. Pretty satisfied with it overall.

I bought the wolfe cage also. Very easy to put in with the notched tubes. All pipes marked with what they were. Fit great.

I thought you could ship to the border then drive and pick it up.

Don't think anyone will ship that much metal free, lol. Not unless they jack up the price first to compensate for the shipping.
