I am wanting to put twin turbos on my build. I'll be honest I know nothing about turbos yet. It's a 460 in my 56 f100 its my cruiser. It now has stock crank kb flat top pistons stock heads with port job. I've read some posts and some say twin gt45s and some say twin t-04. Looking for 750-800hp 6500rpm max. Want to do a blow threw carb setup. Didnt know what turbos or wastegate to go with. This is what it's going in thanks for any info to point me in the right direction. 20170520_110613.jpg #ad

What heads are on this? Twin s356 t4 would hit that power goal fine, and should be fairly responsive. 800hp is not hard with a turbo 460, you just need to make sure you have enough turbine flow.

I believe they are d1ve with port work motor is a fresh build less than 1000 miles on it

The d1ve are a potential problem, d1 had these weird and huge open ports in them, verify which casting they are. The turbos might be enough to prevent detonation, you would be a lot better off with c8/9/d0 or d3, the d3 was the replacement for the d1, it has all the good flow charachteristics of the d0 with less compression. Stock or aftermarket rods?

Since they say they will flow 300hp you'd probably need four of them for the 460 :) look at forced inductions site for the Borg warner s300 series turbos, they usually have pretty good prices. If your looking more for budget like turbos check out vsracing stuff, people have good luck with them. There may be eBay turbos out there, on an eBay turbo I would be looking at a minimum of 60mm minor diameter on the compressor and a t4 hot side

This is what I was thinking about running (twins). I'm wondering what size wastegates to run
Like I said before this is all new to me. Any input is greatly appreciated. What about bovs?

Is that an s369 clone? Looks like a good fit. You only really need one bov, two will be louder, I like the turbosmart race port, plenty of boost noises. You can choose whatever you like the sound of best, most of them will be large enough.

I'm no wiz with the Matchbot tool, but I think you're looking at like twin S375 or so.

For WG, I would probably err on the large side for this since you only want 800hp or so. A good sized set of turbos will want to chooch at like 1000hp on a healthy 460. Bigger WG = lower boost (simplified). Smaller WG can divert less air thus will make more power whether you like it or not in some cases. I think I'd be looking at twin 60mm gates.

Matchbot tells me twin Borg s363 would be a pretty good match.... I am not sure bigger would be very good on a street truck.

S257 would even be adequate at 800hp, and very responsive on the street. I don't think I would run them on a stock rod combo though.

Take a look at the matchbot setup. What most people fail at when setting up matchbot is setting up the initial engine config. A 460 with a decent cam, intake and home ported iron heads only makes around 425 HP, so you have to set up the engine VE to reflect that. Then you can mess with boost settings until it shows the HP you are looking for. The default VE are much too high for old iron. https://www.borgwarner.com/go/1P7M7T

S363's or 366's with the 68mm turbine for quicker spool or the more common 366 with the 73mm turbine if you don't mind a little lag, and helping the rods live
