Been working on this car for quite a while, and finally made it out to the track this weekend for the first time. What do you think it ran? I'll post the correct time and speed tomorrow ...

1.88 Valve factory 345 casting heads, bone stock down to springs and exhaust valve rotators
Crane Powermax hydraulic cam, 467/494 lift, 222/234 @ .050
Air Gap Intake
650 Double Pumper
MSD 6AL Ignition

Custom Turbo kit, Precision PT61, .96 AR turbine,
Wastegate has 5.4psi Spring, runs right at 6 lbs all the time. No Intercooler.

Stock Torque Converter
3.55 Sure Grip
245/50 Drag Radials

So what do you think it ran?

 

11.90 @ 119~+

 

That's about where I'd place it.

 

Hmmm.... first time out, no transbrake or 2 step,stock convertor...I'm going to guess at 12.8@108

This guy has the right thinking ... went 12.73 @ 109 mph, with a 2.01 60' time. Remember, this is only on 6lbs with a 61mm turbo. Later in the day, I got it to go 1.95, but it lost a little up top from the heat. It easily has 50's in it with a little playing, still leaving super soft. I plan to up the boost substantially over time, but got other issues more pressing at this time on the car, before I go chasing ET. Im pretty pleased with the results.

Whoa, thats pretty damn quick. 12.8 at 108, 6 lbs, first time out, and a 2.45 gear, thats awesome.

 

LOL not quite, reread the posts ... it ran 12.73 @ 109 .... it has a 3.55 rear gear, the 2.45 gearset I was referring to was in the 904, just stating that its not a low gear 904.

 

What RPM do you trap at? Nice job on the first time out!

I wonder what it's gonna do with more boost. :hmm: That will give me some idea on my 318.

 

So true, I'm finally getting everything done on my duster with a magnum 5.2. And this is a huge motivator. Makes me feel good about what i'm doing.

 

Glad I could help motivate someone, cuz so many people have kept me motivated for such a long time.

 

I guess that's one of the neat functions of a forum.

Update :

Still on 6lbs, but the car has run faster than it did the first time out.

New bests are 12.40 and 112mph.
