All you need to do is use your accelerator pumps and the Bowls are ready to bolt on. No need to remove the bowl to change jets. Normal bowls start having issues in the 1100-1400HP mark. These Dual N/S Bowls allow for hp above that level.

    Can you tell me the height of the standard 4150 hat? Or the height of the lowest profile one available?

    They are about 3.77" above Carb stud and slope downward from that point (1.25" lower at inlet)

    At what point is the o-ringed hat a "needed" thing? I can believe that they are easier to install so that is a plus even if it isnt needed but at what point do guys start having problems with the gaskets?

    It depends mainly on boost level. I've seen folks pushing out gaskets or blowing by as soon as they reach double digit boost.
    I had no issues at 14-15psi with a hard gasket. Ran it that way a few years. The stud upgrade that is included with the hat helps with clamping force as well.
    Soft air cleaner gaskets usually can't take the abuse that long.
    Peace of mind is an o-ring but several 20psi combos with gasket or silicone have lived when cranked down with larger hardware.
