Thinking of finally going to a stand alone for my car (See signature). Looking for experiences, recommendations, etc. Leaning towards a Big Stuff 3. But I want to hear what people think about the BS3, Fast, Accel, Megasquirt, and AEM. Please rant if necessary....This is an expensive investment and I am hoping to maximize the power in my car with good driveability. Thanks in advance!

I personally haven't used it, but several of my friends are running Megasquirt, and they love it...... One is running it on a turbo Dakota, one on a motorcycle, and I think another is running it on a Kenne Bell supercharged Dakota, but I'm not sure if he has the blower back on yet.......

I have an Motec M4 and think it's great! But I also have a shop that likes to work with them, so that should be a major part of the decision process as well.

Take a look thru the https://www.theturboforums.com/smf/index.php?board=11.0 EFI, Tuning section of this board. Lots of good reading there.

    Good luck,
    Joe

For the price you can't beat the megasquirt. I have one and I haven't had an issue yet. Setup a bunch of neat features with a little extra work like two step and flat shift. Built in overboost is helpful for playing with a manual boost controller safely. The others like the big stuff I've heard good things about but they are way more pricey than the megasquirt

I am a big fan of the Megasquirt stuff. I have been using it in several personal and customer vehicles for years now.
Check out some of the plug and play versions that are out now, they plug right into your factory harness and have most of the options ready to go.

Has anyone used the Holley Dominator stuff on a mod motor yet? I understand that there are some potential compatability issues, but can't seem to get a clear answer. I'm contemplating this same thing; I've got Ford stuff in my swap right now, but it's got a few problems.

You aren't allowed to sell here. I would remove that post before it gets removed for you.

I have an AEM system that I used with my Procharger setup and plan on running it with my new turbo combo. It uses your existing harness and sensors. It offers ability to use as mass air or speed density(I like the speed density for boost). It allows for all of your basic tuning such as spark and fuel as well as many neat features like turbo boost control and ability to run a knock sensor. You can even run a distributorless ignition with it using LS1 coil packs. It has many variables to help with idle settings that are useful for a street car. A few quirks are that it does not play well with MSD distributors and finding someone who likes to tune with them can be difficult. I took my car to have it tuned by a shop that works with AEM stuff and they detonated it on the dyno blowing my head gaskets and cracking my block. I had set up a knock sensor before I took it to them specifically to avoid that situation, but they de-activated it before putting it on the dyno. They claimed that having a knock sensor active makes it hard to tune. I have since been learning to tune it myself. There are so many variables and options that it can be more challenging to tune than some other systems, but If you need the options, it is nice to know they are there.

Accel gen 7- Make sure your local tuner is very knowledgable with whatever system you pick.... or some of his learning curve could be charged to you. Like anything else. Find the specialist for your exact needs.
