These rules are here to protect the members. If you think you are special and they don't apply to you, you are wrong. If you haven't enough posts to use the classifieds, that does not mean you can ignore the rules and post phone numbers/emails... do this and you will be locked out. If you can't be bothered to participate here as a user, and build some trust with the community, that's your problem, not ours. Telling us you didn't read the rules won't fly either.

CLASSIFIEDS RULES:

• You will automatically gain access to post ads after 30 days or 25 posts. If you are found to be purposefully padding your post count with "fluff" posts (like "I agree", "cool car", etc) to get access, they will be removed.

• Parts or vehicles must be yours, no selling for friends.

• All parts or vehicles require a price and your location (city, state, country). For your protection against scammers we suggest exchanging mailing addresses and other personal information via PMs.

• Do not put email addresses and phone numbers in posts, this encourages "spam crawlers." Use PMs to exchange this information once a sale is agreed upon.

• Rip someone off and you'll be banned.

• Don't hijack for sale threads.

• If you link to your item on Ebay, you must include the same description, photos and other information here. Other than Ebay, no links to other places you have the item listed for sale (Craigslist, other forums, etc.).

• You must ship an item within 48 hours of the sale date, unless you note otherwise in your ad, or if you have made other arrangements with the buyer.

• If you have a problem with the classifieds PM one of the staff.

• If you do not read the forums frequently, check a Subscription type in the post edit box to receive email notifications.

• If your item sells please note this:
  ONCE YOUR TRANSACTION IS COMPLETE PLEASE USE THE TRADER FEEDBACK SYSTEM BY CLICKING THE TRADER SCORE ON ANY OF THE PERSON'S POSTS.

BUSINESS / SPONSOR / VENDOR RULES:

• Businesses are not allowed to post unless they are a board sponsor. No exceptions.

• Sponsors should not interfere with each other. This includes bashing, flame wars, ratting out sponsors to manufacturers for selling products cheap, and behind the scenes undercutting of another sponsor's group purchase (known as back dooring).

• Sponsors can only use the member classifieds section to post used or personal items for sale or one time only clearances.

• No new items may be posted here by sponsors. New items should be in the sponsors's sale/group purchase section.

• Authorized Sponsors may post Ebay links for any type of allowed item.

 

Note: we are currently doing a trial run of allowing users with less posts and/or time access to posting ads. Depending on how it pans out this may or may not be permanent.


Update: Trial Run Successful. Ebay link trial run (5 month trial) also successful so we will allow them, but will monitor closely for abuse. The rules have been updated to reflect the trial runs.
