Got an old classic fast sequential box with inductive pickup on my turbo 383 mopar that has been running since 2012 with an OEM lean burn dist in it (early computer controlled system that has no mech or vac adv) to run the crank trigger and I've not been using the cam sync/seq part. I'm putting a little better 383 under it all and acquired a Mallaory dual sync dist some time ago

My FAST has 2 wires + ground for the crank and cam signals whereas this dist has 3 wires + ground. Any thoughts on this? Is the dist meant for something other than inductive pickup? I've never run a 'real' crank trigger, do hall effect sensors have 3 wires?
    Thanks

Can you look inside and see where the wires are going? Should be able to see a pickup fot the cam and one for the crank. Crank one will have 8 "windows" where the cam will have one.
Yes, Hall effect have 3 wires. 12+, Sensor ground, and signal. Should be shielded wire.

yes - should have been more clear - the dist has 2 separate plugs one for crank one for cam, each have 3 wires + ground. They go to separate components on the board inside the dist.

So is this dist hall effect and therefore I can't use it unless I would have my fast box converted from inductive pickup?

My classic has 2 separate leads for crank and cam, does xfi have one big plug, if in looking at that pigtail correctly?
    Thanks

In the software, can you set the FAST to HALL/HALL instead of IPU/IPU?

I don't think so. Right now the car is 4hrs away in torn apart. next time I go back I'll power it up, but I don't think that's an option because I had to send it in when I first got it to have some guts changed from Ford TFI to IPU.

Ford TFI is Hall effect. So maybe it can still work?
