Carbed B head sheet metal intake fab underway

    I decided to build my own carbed B head sheet metal intake heres some pix of what i have done so far

    Yes but i will be using the Teksid block and the B heads from it , i still have to purchase the steel crank , manley rods , some turbo pistons and cams

    600 + its more of a street rod and will be used on the street 99 % of the time , mite see the track 1 maybe 2 times a year , i just want to have some fun with it :cheers:

    Looks good. I checked out the build thread yesterday. Nice work, and it looks like a fun project.

    Thanks , it is fun when the funds are there but when they get low its not as much fun its just neat to look at LOL

    I finished cutting the other 6 runners today and maybe i hog out the flanges tomorrow .

    What are you using for the runners , looks like 2 X 3 1/2 box tubing. The way you did the top piece will save on a lot of tig work over building the box out of sheet welded togather go thinking. For the flanges you should have used a set of MMR IRC delete's makes it easy.

    Bought the runner material from these guy's http://www.rossmachineracing.com/runnertubing.html and got it real quick , the intake flanges i used 1/2" alum. and made them my self.

    This build started out with a LS 6.0l and went to a sbc 406 and i ended up doing the build with a 4.6l

    Careful about saying the word "ratrod." Some people out here, Hollywood Hotrods, will cut you. Lol :cheers:

    If I can make a suggestion...... IDK much about them, but looked for a while about building one. I would suggest putting the runners you have made in the center. Then trying to angle the front and rear runners towards the carb. The distance will make it harder to reach those cyl's as is. Giving it that length and a sharp angle looks like it will make those cyl very weak. Looks great though. Looking forward to progress.

    I haven't even thought that far ahead , i usually make my own and i have used painless before so it depends on funds at that time , i do like the pianless idea :2thumbs:
