We are getting allot of blow by on our engine, leak down show 1-2% max. It is an older 101mm Innovative turbo just wondering if seals are bad
can it pressurize the return line to pan? We have (2) #12 lines going to catch can but no vacuum pump. Thanks

what piston rings you got ?
ductile iron rings if detinated , will lose there tension, therefore allowing more blow by..

you sure u only got 1-2 % leak ? thats extremly good

no, the turbo cannot directly pressurize the sump

Yes, a turbo can pressurize the crankcase via the drain if there is an issue with it. Just pull the drain line and shoot it into a 5 gallon pail and start it up.

I guess it's possible. Disconnect the oil return line. Use a air compressor and pressurize the intake system starting at the turbo inlet. Regulate the air pressure to around 20 psi or whatever your comfortable with. Do you feel any air leaking out of the oil return?

It filled up the overflow can (1 qt) in couple passes. Running only 14psi
