What Size Headers & Crossover For 1000+HP

I am wondering on what size headers to get 1 5/8" or 1 3/4", what size crossover 2.5" or 3.0", also if I should increase the size pipe from 3" to 3.5" from the intercooler to the throttle body? I am trying to make 1000 to 1200HP with a FORD 327 and a Precision GT42-76 with a 1.28 A/R. I have heard of guys running 1 5/8" headers and 2.5" crossover over 1000HP is this true? Would the bigger headers and bigger crossover cause it to take longer to spool?

i made a little over 1100(flywheel) with 1 3/4 headers and 2.5 cross over and it had a 4inch pipe from the turbo to the throttle body, with no IC..

400 cid, pt91 with pumpgas and pure meth..
i think you will be pushing the snot out of that 76 but it could happen!!

    1. 1 3/4 headers is fine. Guys are making 1500hp with a 2.5inch cross over.
    2. Bigger headers and crossover will slow spool a little bit, but with that size turbo you would still be fine. if you put a large frame thumper on it, you would want the smaller crossover to increase velocity which helps spool up on the bigger turbos.

    3. Finally, listen very carefully here - there isn't a SNOW BALLS CHANCE IN HELL that turbo is going to make 1000-1200RWHP on a 327inch Ford small block engine. And anyone who tells you it will either is A) trying to take your money 2) Doesn't know crap about what they are talking about 3) Just reads stories on the intrawebs and thinks they'll a turbo guru or... 4) Is lying about what their car made with this same turbo. 5) had their car on a dynojet dyno with a ridiculous correction factor in it to show the "big" numbers. Its just not possible. That turbo doesn't move enough air to make that kind of power. 800-900? Sure, but not much more.

    Local guy runs 7.90s at 180 on flipped 1 5/8 shorties (400ci 94mm 25psi)

I also think Brent made some big hp opn 1 5/8

    I myself run 1 3/4 and a 2.5" X-over

    he never said rwhp.

that unit will do 1000fwhp, and its comp wheel is rated to 1200+hp max, but the turbine in the garrett units usually chokes before you get everything out of it.
