How much boost is he running?

He'll probably be fine with the 9333's if he's just wanting to last for the summer.

he had felpro's in ther with an o ring but when the heads were bolted down it seemed to push the o-ring into cylinders 5/7

I ran 14 psi on 9333 from advanced auto parts for a whole summer with no problems . If the tune is good , no worries.

Is he using ARP studs to bolt the heads down? Stock head? Anything warped? Original headgaskets?

he's got ARP studs, ported E7's, and everything's straight. they were felpro headgaskets. like i said i doubt there's anything wrong with the motor parts it had to have been defective gaskets cus it looks like the both o-rings between the 7-8(not the 5/7 as stated above, remember im a chevy guy lol) was pushed into the 7/8 cylinders when they were compressed.

made the below pic up real quick just so everyone can see exactly what happened. it really appears to be a defective gasket. but idk for sure. where it was pinched is nowhere near any studs so its unlikely it was over-tightened
i would get a pic of the actual gasket but he's still a lil heated so i wont see it anytime soon if he hasnt burned it already lol

Good chance with those heads they just lifted. But if it pushed, it was probably pinging. If he's going to want to sell it over one set of head gaskets, let him sell it. That's not much grief to quit already. It'll be easier to do now lol

How's he tuning it? What's the timing at? Guys on this board have claimed 1000whp on cheap felpro 9333pt1. I think they go for around $20 a piece. That's what I'm using.

If he's running actual factory timing settings that is why his HG's are blowin. Are you sure he didn't lock his distributor out at like 20* or so?

for a while he was not jumping the spout connector for the dist. then he hooked up up. not sure what he was running for timing but we didnt change anything from the old setup. before he was just running a bonestock 5.0 with stock manifold and a b cam. didnt change the dist., injectors, or anything. just swapped the heads and put the intake on and fired it up. and it was running mint before
