Low budget Bbc 502 turbo rear gear help

    I’m building a very low budget Bbc turbo drag type deal

    car back halved 14x32 tires
    2400-2600 lbs
    1/8 mile track
    Power glide trans
    Small hydraulic roller cam
    Low rpm window shifting around 6500
    98mm billet turbo
    Stock 088 heads
    Ptc billet converter
    Blow thru carb
    Estimated hp 1000-1200

    I was thinking about going with a 4.10 rear gear thinking this would give the engine the chance to build some steam and mph with the low rpm window

    Run it with whatever is in there to start, you might find it likes a taller gear. Especially with the convertor and the car being as light as it is.

    If you have a goal mph , calculate gear for the rpm you want out the back. Consider some convertor slip in the mix even though its not always a known value until you get some passes.
