I made 700 / 721 @ 20 psi with my built 2V 5.4L in my Lightning. This was on 93 oct. pump gas. I'm moving to E85 this year.

Yes, but they were ported in 04. I would say the port jobs have gotten better over the years.

its a t76 ball bearing. with a .96. im hoping to make 600rwhp at 15psi. i have ported heads and turbo cams and a forged bottom. the main goal is 700rwhp with this turbo setup.. can someone explain to me what is the big deal with the exhaust housing? ive seen people with .81 and some with .96 whats that mean what will that do for the turbo? if the ex housing is biger will that carry out more top end power and if its smaller will that just give it more bottom end? im confused ne to turbo always been a supercharged guy.

I had a .96 a/r for a year then recently switched to a .81 a/r housing. I was getting full boost around 4000rpm with the .96, so I had a ton of lag. The .81 a/r is seeing full boost around 3000 rpm. I may have lost a bit of top end hp, but the car seems faster since your not waiting for the boost to come on. I may dyno the car in april to see of the hp dropped off going to a smaller a/r.

I myself am stepping down to a .81 with out a doubt.... the .96 is to big and your right.. way to much lag...

I will be going to a different dyno, so the correction factors will most likely be off.

Why so low? With 93 octane you should be fine with 14-15*. You'll be leaving hp on the table with such low timing.

Wow, this post just gave me hope. I was originally gonna go with a turbo no bigger than a 70mm because I didn't want a lotta lag, but if you're really seeing full boost by 3K then I may start lookin at a 76mm...

It's around 3-3500 rpm. I know I spool 1000rpms quicker with the .81 a/r. Once it hits 3000 rpm, I have some boost. I know by 3500 I have full boost.

That's great news, I'm still trying to learn all this turbo stuff. How much sooner does it drop off though on top? Think I'd still be makin boost up around 6500-7000?

I've made 539hp/578tq on 11 psi with Turbonetics T76-GTS and .81 a/r housing, so far, and that was on E85 with only 16 deg's of timing. Made peak power @ 5900 and held that within 5hp up to 6300, and was only down 27rwhp @ 6900. Stage 2 ported heads w/ turbo cams here as well. I wouldn't think you're going to see the .81 choke it up high until you get closer to 650-700 rwhp. I was picking up 29-30 hp per pound of boost from 8-9-10-11!!!
