The disassembly is nearly complete. Tomorrow the roll bar goes in and a transmission crossmember for the TH400 gets fabbed. Also hopefully I can mount the fuel pump and finish the battery box install.

Are you going to mini tub and narrow the rear? You'll want to later if you don't.

No minitubs, I am altering this car too much already. I hate to do it but the car will not handle this kind if power without some chassis stiffening. A little more safety for me is good too. :D

As for fun, I'm sure it will be! :chacha:

Some progress today. I got all the reinforcement plates for the rollbar welded in and well as the main hoop and cross bar. I was going to do the front bars but I ran into a problem. The seat adapters for my Sparco Sienna seats lift me up so high that I couldn't sit in the car with my helmet on! :bang: :bang: So the seat base will have to be dropped about 1-2", as much as possible anyway. This is a Wolfe Racecraft bar with 2 removable swingout side bars. Expensive but worth the price. It fits perfectly. The only change that had to be made was cutting 1/2" off of the main hoop for height reasons. It also has the dropped door bars to clear the armrests on the doors.

Some more progress today. Got the roll bar completely welded in. Now all it needs is paint. Sure am glad that I bought one with the swingout door bars. It is near impossible for me to get in without them! :(

Thanks Pat, it will get there slowly but surely. If I could just convince FEDEX to deliver my parts things would go a lot quicker. :bang: :bang: My cylinder heads were shipped by Brian back to me on Jun 26, they are still not here 3 attempts later. They say that maybe on Friday. Brian, Teasha and I all want to kill/maim many FEDEX employees. What a joke! >:( >:( Of course the machine shop couldn't finish assembly on the engine until the heads get here. So I am a little behind.

Anyway 1 of the 4 boxes Brian shipped on the 19th arrived. These were inside. The box was nearly destroyed but the contents are in perfect condition.

But when I start to install it, the kickout on the oilpan hits the hardline for the powersteering rack 3/4" before the motor is on the mounts. :( So time for a Flaming River rack.

Some small progress today. The transmission is in without the assistance of the BFH! :D I am surprised that no mods to the tunnel were needed. The wastegates are installed, the pipes are mocked up for intercooler install and other small items put in place. Happily the hood will close with the hat on however the pipe from the wastegate to the hat was hitting the hood. :( I will talk to Brian tomorrow and check a few things. Hopefully it will be a simple fix. No pics today, I forgot the camera at home and the shop is a 30 minute drive. :bang:
