I had a question about a s475 on a 496I put it in the other section but think this might be a better section for the answer. Is this engine to big for a s475 with a t6 1.32 flange.I bought the turbo for a very mild 454bbc but do have a good 496 rods, crank and flattops pistons and a 4 bolt block for them.Im looking at a engine that might top out at 800 at crank.I can go either way just had some really good parts for a 496 so was just curious..thanks

I am gonna guess the 75mm is too low.

A 2.5" crossover will support 2000hp so that wont be holding you back lol, for what you're wanting to do, that s475 at about 10psi will do just fine. It doesnt take much at all from a boosted 496 to make your goal of 800 crank, thats about 650whp....peanuts for boosted 496

You definitely won't need to spin it to high either. The 1.32 will choke at some point but you should get plenty of longevity and gobs of tq at low rpm.

probably 5500rpms is all it would take, that 496 would live forever too lol

An 850 will be more suitable for a big 496 and the price difference between the two if buying new is negligible if any at all. I can guarantee you that in the next yr or so you'll be making another thread about an 88+mm turbo for your 496 lol! boost is addictive....think ahead, get the 850cfm from the get go.

the 750 would probably be more streetable but the 850 would be the better fit and overall hp. Both will hit your goals. That said I've used 850 and 750's on my BBC's. I see a slight boost decrease with the 750 as it offers restriction. Also depends on who you are buying the carb from. All kinds of options
