Finally time to do the turbo ls swap on my nova. Using a gen 3 5.3 with gen 4 guts. 799 heads nnbs intake stock cam for now. Turbo kit is mostly ebay special using up and forward headers with the cast stainless to t4 flange 90s 44mm wyntomm gates and 50mm ebay bov. No intercooler e85 160lb injectors powerglide with 1.80 straight cut planetary and a transbrake. Suspension is stock upfront and a set of monoleaf with slidealinks and qa1 double adjustable out back. Has the basic weight reduction done already glass bumpers inner fender delete heater delete basic interior street car.

355 sbc stock bottom end on 2 kits. Sprayed what the motor made. Was a fun ride.

Those are the best kind of setups ---- 5.3 will put up with plenty of abuse as well. Good transition imo

I broke 1 piston in 3 years. Swapped cams 3 times and landed with a decent sized solid cam in it. I'm ready to get it back together and see what it does. Still have a ms3x box to order before much longer. Had the car a few years and had 36k on when I got it.

Me too, I think the tbrake and MS will make it work pretty good. Should haul the mail.

Fuel system minus the pump is good for 1200+ on e85 and I'm just hoping it puts 700 to the tire.

getting ready to yank the motor and Trans so I can get the mock up block in the car and figure exhaust and waste gate placement. Also going back to the stock flat hood as well.

here's the mock up block. It's an 5.3 that had a crank problem. It'll eventually be turned into an iron ls1 for 84 c10 that's about to be my daily driver.

Anyone want to make predictions? Assuming I can make it hook. I'm thinking it'll run some 5.80s in the 1/8th

I would quickly get rid of that stock cam and springs with those turbos if it were me. I would also get the right converter behind it. I just put two of these on a 427 sbc.

Springs are a given and the cam is only cause I want to get it back running first. Cam swap will take a day to do later on. The converter is a custom unit I'm saving my pennies to have built
