I haven't in years. I don't get out much these days. :bang:
I seem to ALWAYS have someone elses stuff to work on.
    Not all bad.....

I hope to see some racing this year.
If the weather holds out I think they are racing this weekend.

To answer your question. . . I know something about the 76GTS. Built 2 combo's so far with it. One was a blow-through carbureted 377 that made 930 fwhp and 1070 ft-lb at 18 psi. The other is on my personal car that's been between 363 and 388 cid and run 9.9 at 146 mph at 17 psi boost.

I think the S400 is a little bigger and slower spooling than the 76GTS, but I'm no expert on it.

if your only looking for 600 to 700 hp a single t 70 will be enough

That is true, but the exhaust side worries me with 377 cid. The T70 can supply enough air for that power level, but the exhaust backpressure will be very high. If he wants to go smaller, he can go with the PT70GTS since it has the same exhaust side as the 76GTS. However, I don't think there would be much difference in spool time and the 76 will allow room to grow.

Dave, how do the two compare dimensionally?

I know the T-76GTS is as follows:

    4" air inlet
    3" air outlet
    76 mm compressor inducer

    T4 turbine inlet
    3" v-band turbine outlet
    2.96" turbine exducer
    3.2" turbine inducer

From this, it looks like the 79 trim is equal or slightly less of a turbo than the 76GTS. It looks like the 84 trim is more capable than both. I've seen folks get right at 1000 rwhp with the 76GTS. Has this been done with the S400? One advantage of the 76GTS is the size, since it's really small for the power it produces. However, the S400 is so cheap and possibly slightly more capable, it's the way to go if you have room.

Quick79 and I are using the S400. Here is a link to his car and a video of a test run. Unfortunately he had some suspension problems but it built boost extremly fast as you can tell from the launch. I think this is a excellent turbo for the price and will definately achieve your goals. It is a large turbo so if room is a problem then you may want to go with the T4 - 76mm turbo instead of the S400.

S400 Dave is refering to will make More than 1000 RWHP and is a much stronger turbo. We are actually getting away from selling Precision all together.
