2000 5.4 4r70w questions

    i bought a low milage 4r70w from a 5.4 2wd pickup. my plans are to freshen up the transmission add as many clutches i can and run it behind a 4.6dohc making about 500hp on stock cams.

    first question is will the truck converter hold up for what i am planning.
    second does anyone have a list of parts/upgrades for upgrading the internals to about 500-600hp

    The stock converter on those is prone to ballooning when you get some power behind it - on truck tunes like to keep the commanded shift points at 5,200 give or take (it actually shifts higher than the commanded shift points). You'll want to replace it with a good locking converter.
