So I have a complete low mileage 2.3T with the wiring harness, fuel system, and T5/hydraulic bell housing from an '88 TC yesterday to swap into my B2200 cab plus. I have the complete Turbo Coupe wiring harness and ecm...my dilemma is if I use the stock engine management, anybody have a wiring diagram to show what I can eliminate on it to modify it to a clean stand alone harness? Or my other option is to use on of my 2 MegaSquirts I have. I have an MS 1 V3.0 that was set up for my old 91 Escort LX that was plug and play with an EEC-IV adapter board...it was set up for EDIS and the TC engine has TFI-I don't know what all was modded in the MS and how much was taken care of in the adapter board. I also have a complete, standard build MS 2 V3.0 so it would need to be modded for TFI as well and I don't want to tackl that myself either. If I used the MS 2 I could pick up a Duraspark distributor and use it to trigger the ignition instead of the TFI. Then I would still need to learn how to tune it. I want to keep this as my daily driver as it is now, so I don't know if I can take the time to iron out the tune with a MS. If anyone has a diagram of the wires I need to make it run with the stock computer, I would be most grateful!

If I was doing this I'd go with a Merkur harness and use the adapter board or build your own MS harness using a 60.00 harness from DIY Autotune. The Tbird harness has too many changes needed to be worth your while. You can probably just sell the harness if it's nice and recoup some jingle.

The TFI mods are not complex, just a resistor and a transistor for the IAC. You can PM me if you need help, or better yet get my email from my sig and get hold of me.

No matter which way you go you are going to have to learn the tuning software. Just an unfortunate fact of life. MS is pretty easy though. I have been using it for 6 or 8 years on my DD's. No drama. No blown headgaskets. 288 HP to the wheels on my current 2.3T DD.

Walt knows what I'm talking about.
