I have been a member of this board since the beginning and have gained valuable information from its' members. I have just completed my 5 year project and wanted to share it with you. The first attempt of turbocharging was a 355 sbc with a GT40-88 Garrett turbo. I built a blow-through Holley by following the guide on this forum. I built a forged engine at 8.5:1 CR and ran 8 lbs. of boost (no intercooler). The engine was placed in a 27 T roadster. I estimate the engine at about 450 hp and 550 lb. ft. torque. The roadster weighed about 1900 lbs. One drive in this car and myself, my buddies, and everyone who got a ride fell in love. The sensation was a combination of 50% primal panic and 50% elation.

I am have always been a Ford guy, so the next project had to be a Ford in a Ford. I built this car myself, one piece at a time. It takes a long time when you start from scratch. I began with a fiberglass 32 body that was tubed and widened 8". I started with a pair of 34 truck frame rails and fabricated the frame from square tubing. I love the 4 valve Ford engines and came across a junkyard Mach 1 engine with a forged crank. I also prefer automatic transmissions in turbo cars. My friend Jeb, rebuilt a 4R75W for me and I got a beefed up converter. I built a cage and welded it to the frame. The rear suspension is a ProStreet 4 link with a narrowed 8.8 with 3.73 gears. The front is my own design. It is a double wishbone independent coil-over built from circle track parts from UB machine. I adapted the 32 hairpin as the rear link to give it a nostalgic look.

The engine is boosted by 2 GT 28/76 ball bearing turbos with a large air-air intercooler fed by a scoop under the radiator. Engine management is a Megasquirt 2, and the transmission is managed by a Baumann computer.

The car is under 2800 lbs. The turbos are set at 10 lbs. of boost. I estimate the engine at between 450 and 500 hp. I have been driving it a week and have just got the tuning worked out. The boost starts about 2000 rpm and is at full boost at 2800 rpm. The car hooks well and goes straight. I haven't run the engine above 5200 rpm, because there is no safe place to go 100 mph here.

I am very proud this build. I hope you enjoy it. I will upload more information about the driving and power as it progresses. Thanks in advance.

Im usually not a fan of the older coupes and gangster era classics but this is very unique! Even the paint is not something you see on this type of car
    I give it a

Beautiful car and nice work! Are you going for the no hood look (which showcases the engine), or is that down the road? I love the color. One thing I got a kick out of was scrolling down and seeing the touch screen!
