we had a dyno day at our local speed shop so i decided to to put mine up there. its a stock 1972 351w block half filled with a eagle cast crank. csu 750 and twin mp 70s told kevin saturday what it made we are both happy with it.it may of put down 1100 if it wouldnt of spun the tires at higher rpm. it did 1073 hp and 1080 tq @ 26lbs all with a 67/82 jet!!

thanks, now im sure it wouldnt live long making passes all year but im gonna turn it back down to 16lbs to run our local 570 real street.ive been doing that for the last 2 yrs

you have some more left in it i think!!! i got 630 outta one you can get 1175-1200 outta yours! what exhuast housings you running on them? i wanna upgrade to a bigger single but i also thought about redoing everything and throwing a second 70 on my lil 359

its got the . 68 housings i tried some .96 but it didnt spool them until half track and besides that it dont need to make anymore power i really dont want to build another engine!!

Great numbers....what did you do differently from when you dyno'd 965/801 @ 26psi earlier this season? Also, any vids from the track?

i say do it!!! i had a single but it took a crap, them little 70s are only 500. a piece, so what if one ever failed its not a 2000 dollar turbo that came apart.

i dont know all i can figure is this time the engine was fresh with no runs and i got a better handle on the carb now. last time i got the carb from kevin took it out of the box bolted it on and strapped it to the dyno. we have lots of track video just just got to get it on the net one day.

Does it sound like it has a bit of a stumble coming into boost or is that the video? If that is the case does it do it all the time when you floor it or only easing into the throttle??
Incredible #'s for a factory block, I wander how long it last at that power level if you were to keep the rpm's below 6000??

i had it a tad rich to be safe. no it dont do it all the time. its been running 570s for the last 2 years with no issues, just put fuel and ice water and go racing,its the best 1700. motor ive ever built.

16 lbs to run 570s usually around 122-125 mph i was always told maybe a 880 -870 in the 1/4 give or take

Looking good man. Love that 4 eye fox and that Chevy II Nova. Good looking cars. When i go testing on 8th tracks i'm usually at 16#'s and a 5.60 @ around 140. Same tune on a 1/4 puts me a low 8.6x at 16x.

that is correct a 159 dollar ebay cast 3.85 stroke crank, when i built motor i never ever intended to run as fast as i do nor make almost 1100hp.
