Since last August I've been in the process of building an entirely new combination out of my 1998 Saleen.
I removed the 302 stroker mod engine and 2 valve heads along with the 57mm twin turbo system.

I decided to let Fastlane Motorsports in Benson, NC (www.fastlanemotorsports.us) take on the challenge to help me attain a truly unique and badass combo that I could drive anywhere and still make stupid power.

In its place is now the following -

ENGINE -
5.4 shortblock (Oliver rods, CP pistons, etc)
GT Supercar 4 valve heads (stage 3 ported by Melvin @ Fastlane)
Stock GT cams
Sullivan intake

TURBO SYSTEM -
Garrett twin 67mm Big Kahuna turbos
Custom made air-to-air intercooler
All stainless 3" exhaust including hand built custom headers
All stainless cold side piping from turbos to intercooler to t/b
All piping, intercooler, headers, etc were crafted by Jim @ Fastlane.
This guy can weld better than anything I've ever seen.

FUEL ITEMS -
Lucas 120# injectors
Versafueler injector driver
Stock 98 ECM with custom SCT dyno tuning by Caleb @ Fastlane
Aeromotive Pro-Series fuel pumps and filters
Aeromotive Pro-Series regulator
#12 feed lines
#8 return lines
sumped factory tank

DRIVE TRAIN ITEMS -
Viper spec T-56 transmission
SPEC Super-Twin clutch kit with aluminum flywheel
Custom made aluminum driveshaft
Custom fabricated transmission mount by Jim @ Fastlane

Plus many other small items.

Car is still under construction to finish the cold side tubing, but this car should be back on the streets by the end of June!

wow, all that stainless is pretty, its amazing you can fit anything in the engine bay with a 5.4 DOHC

Damn. Awesome build. I wished my little '95 Cobra Dart turbo project was as nice as that.

 

Awesome build Just curious, What was you max Hp with the 57's with the manual trans? Did you end up maxing the turbos? I only ask because I have a fully built 2v with 57's that hasnt been on the dyno yet and Im wondering how much Hp theese will make through a TH-400, Im hoping badly theyll crack in the upper 800's..

I'm a friend of Ryans and if I remember correctly the old combination got to a point where it wouldn't make any more power per pound of boost so he stopped. It may have made more but I know it made 810hp. So, the turbos definitely werent maxed out.

Figures the year I can't make MW is the one with a car I would really like to see, look great man. Fast lane is on the top of my short list for if I ever decide to not have a B&G set up

 

Has FASTLANE had good luck with the COMP adjustable cam gears?? I used them on my last motor ( the one that locked up in the top end) and have been debating on running them again
