That is going to be one fast ride. I too have a Glenn's Performance sleeper tank, it's actually the 950 hp kit. I was wondering if you have or will have any pictures of the tank installed and how you ran your fuel lines to the engine compartment?

    Thanks.

I basically bought the 1450 kit without the fuel pump and filters. I will take some pictures and post them. I have a rough week/weekend and will most likely get to it next week. I fabricated a mounting plate with studs to mount the pump on so the pump can be swapped out without dropping the tank cover to remove the mounting hardware for the pump. The pump comes a bit close to the studs sticking out of the rear end girdle, but not enough to hit.

Did you buy the dual sync distributor yet? I have one, brand new minus the box that i'd be willing to sell.

Project looks killer - that car is going to hump!!!

Yup, I have one already. I actually had two and had to sell one. I want to switch to crank trigger eventually but it is hard to argue with a part that you already have.

Re: 1989 LX BG CUSTOM TURBO PT78/C4 True Street

I'm beginning to plan my electical wiring since that is my next challenge and want to do as much as possible before the turbo kit arrives. Can the experts here take a look at the below plan and let me know if you have any input, feedback or concerns. Thanks!

    1. Shifter Related
    a. Reverse Lights (need to find this, car was originally an auto converted to stick)
    b. Neutral Safety Switch (need to find where the wire for this is, I think it is the factory jumper that was placed in for 5 speed)
    c. T-handle with button triggers trans brake and 2nd step rev limiter
    2. Cooling
    a. Electric Fan
    i. Turned on by DFI or internal thermostat?
    ii. Manual Override Switch
    b. Electric Water Pump
    i. Turned on when car is running
ii. Manual override switch when car is off for staging lanes at true street races
    3. Gauges
    a. Power and ground to gauges on cowl
    b. Power and ground to gauges in center ac vents
    c. Route wire for electrical transmission temperature gauge
    d. Shift light
    i. Relay trigger from DFI or via separate source?
    ii. Relay actuates shift light
    4. MSD Digital 6
    a. 2nd step rev limiter connected to shifter button and transbrake
    b. What is the best way to use a rev limiter from both DFI and the MSD Digital 6?
    5. Line lock
    a. Need to determine placement of switch
    6. Wide-band 02
    a. Need to purchase for DFI
    b. Need to verify placement of bung
    7. Fuel System
    a. Trigger wire run from DFI to relay
    8. Alternator
    a. Power wire from alternator to trunk mount battery
    b. Alter battery positive to go directly to starter
    c. Run wire from starter to binding post under the hood

This car should run 9.50s all day long in true street trim. will you be ready for NMRA in Bradenton Florida in March? we are ready for true street but were running 9.00 every pass in testing. Hope to see you there. by the way move the coil to the fender well its in a bad location (heat) and run a 1/0 ground cable from the battery to the bellhousing bolt to the starter, and also to the cage. perfict ground locations.

I doubt I will make it to Bradenton with this car. I won't get the turbo kit until the end of Feb and probably won't have the lead time to get it together and tuned. I have friends making the trip and am pondering bringing my 93 cobra. It just stresses me out racing a 13k mile car...

Thanks for the electrical advice. I like where the coil is because it is neat and clean but I hear you on the heat...

It is shadow blue metallic. Original color repainted the right way. It is too cold for me to go out in that garage right now, I will grab the paint code the next time I'm out there.

This was the car with out of the box trickflow h/c/i natually aspirated with a tremec.

Haven't gotten much more done. Had to put the fixed up g-force T5 back in my 93 cobra this weekend. I have collected a bunch of parts for my next round of work.

Will call BG CUSTOM TURBO tomorrow and see if we are on target for the end of the month.

Just FYI, that mess of a waterpump alt setup takes a 40 inch belt. Got one from summit.

Got the wife out in the garage to see the progress. Not sure she yet understands the amount of noise that will exit from the item her arms seems to fit well in.

Worked on it all night last night. Got most of the DFI wiring done. Had to do quite a bit of work on the harness to get it to fit right. Also got the shifter all mocked up. I have a B&M ripper made for a mustang, but my car was originally an auto, converted to a five speed, with new carpet cut to fit the shifter. Result was a lot of massaging. Really nice setup but a pain to get together.

I will post some new pictures tomorrow.
