Well I have been working on my new project over the past 7 months and I figure its about time I post it up here on turbo mustangs. The project is installing a built '˜01 cobra motor in to my 1992 mustang notch. The project also will include a custom single turbo kit, fuel system, and T56 trans among many other things. The car originally had a 302 with the normal H/C/I and a SQ trim on it. That combo was sold in order to fund this new combo. I couldn't have done this project if not for the help of our shop KKP (Krazy Koncepts Performance) and Eric Eddy (Waterpog '“ TM Administrator) Thanks guys.

Here are some of the specs:
01 cobra aluminum block .20 over
    Scat rods and SRP pistons
    01 cobra heads
    01 cobra intake
    T56 trans
    Hydro boost system
Fuel system- Sump tank, Magna fuel pump and reg, rails, 60's, -10 feed, -8 return
Turbo kit- Flipped headers, MP70 .96A/R, JGS 50mm waste gate and BO valve, 3' FMIC, 3.5' DP split into duel 2.5' all the way back to magna flows and 3' axle back tail pipes.
    Kenny Brown K-member, A-arms, coil over's, FR500 17x9' and 17x10.5'
Smoothed engine bay and new paint.
    Florida 5.0 gauge cluster
Running everything will be a BS3 with LS1 coils.

I have A LOT of pics and I'll be posting them up as often as I can. With in the last couple weeks I have got it running and will start tuning it soon. The next big thing will be paint. Enjoy Thanks Justin

Installing the K-member, A-arms, and coil overs. The K-member is for 96+ mustangs so a little fitting was needed. When all that was done I dropped the motor and trans in to test fit everything. Everything fit real nice. I did have to relocate the trans cross member mounts about 6" back for the T56.

Installed the T56, deleted the fox sway bar and installed a sn95 sway bar. I needed to move the sway bar mount 6" forward and mount it to the frame rail inorder to fit.The end links also needed to be shortened. Also built the radiator mounts and FMIC mounts.

    Thats all for tonight.

Pics of the mounting location for the turbo. I just made a bracket to hang it off the front cover. Also some pics of the turbo kit. I used the stock manifolds because they are beefy and will not warp. The DP is 3.5' that splits in to two 2.5". Also mocked up the waste gate and IC pipe coming from the turbo.

Thanks for the compliments guys. :2thumbs: It's been a cool build so far. Although I have found out many times during this build if you change or modify 1 thing it will change 5 other things! :bang: I guess that is to be expected when you want to put a turbo mod motor in a fox body. :D

Here are some pics of the fuel system. It's a magna fuel system with -10 feed and -8 return. Next are degass bottle mock up and IC to TB pipe pics. Also I'm welding all the holes and making patch panels to smooth the engine bay. Fun Fun...

    Nice build.

    Very nice!

May I ask what you used for metal when you fabbed up your inner fender aprons?

    Thanks.

Nice build, I like how you used the cast iron cobra manifolds. Can you give me some tips on how you sucessfully welded to the cast iron?? Did you have to preheat? I am a pretty rookie welder, but i would like to do the same with my stock 2V manifolds.

    Thanks alot

What I did was cut and mock everything up. I use the stick welder with a cast99 rod (made just for cast stuff) and put down a good size bead where I plan to weld the mild steel pipe. Then I used the wire feed to weld my pipe to the cast99 bead. Worked out real good.
