If it was me and I wanted to two tone it, I would use the chrome trim as the dividing point and let the paint accentuate the body lines.

They offered a white roof as a factory option, I was considering silver flake to be a play off that as a touch "custom" or "gasser". I don't have a problem with the black but the whole thing could use paint and the roof is the worst. I need a windshield so I was thinking knock that out and paint the roof at the same time.

The white is a nice classy look. I don't know the word for it but the red looks racey. I don't care for the yellow.

I know what you mean. I don't care for the colors much, it would be white or silver flake if anything.

Interior temperature would be more comfortable with a light colored roof. I think Corinthian White would look good and be period correct.

Got another brpv for the secondary side. Working on that and cleaning up the carb body like I've wanted to for a while. I cut the choke horn off but never really blended anything, part of the horn between the pri/sec throats was still there. May not make a difference but it at least looks prettier now. Also sealed off the PV vent holes in the base plate. Front side is still open to the metered vacuum nipple if it ever needs to be used (yuck). 20240624_101039.jpg #ad

Got it back on with the brpv out back, and 76 sec jets (from 84). WOT seems OK, still mid 11s afr. Rich stumble on quick pedal accel is better, but not gone. The flip side, slow accel there is a more pronounced lean condition (no real load, but it is going 16+:1) before the secondary opens enough or it builds boost. Maybe it needs a larger accel cam/pump. It's got a 30cc now with the stock pink cams. Other thought is high speed bleed on the primary. 20240625_095809.jpg #ad

Maybe just a bigger primary squirter?

That is definitely a possibility. I feel like if I get that lean spot figured out, this thing is pretty well dialed in for driveability and WOT. If I get it fixed I could go back down to the 70 primary jets and have a real nice cruise afr. It's a little fat with the 72s but it helps the lean spot.

Maybe a different accelerator pump cam. One that is more aggressive at first and tapers off the more you open the throttle. They come in several different profiles. Or bigger front squirter and smaller rear.

Once you go EFI you'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner lol.

Cam is the first thing I want to try, though efi is definitely on the short list. I'm quite sure the first time it starts and drives on efi I will never want a carb again. I was just telling my wife how a lot of this tinkering could be avoided, she seemed agreeable haha.

Yeah, it spoils you, just a couple of key strokes. New tech is amazing, I had my car running great, or at least I thought I did. A firmware upgrade introduced "map prediction" it replaces conventional acceleration enrichment. Night and day difference, I could feel a huge improvement before I even made it to the street.

Well you're not helping me save any money that's for sure.

Through some blanks in the primary HSAB. New car. Lean spot is all but gone, might need to put the 70s back in and see what it looks like. No lean spot easing into it and a very small stumble quick to the floor. Might have it nice just in time for efi this winter.
