Finally finished my lil 9.12:1 aluminum 283!

    It made 600hp
    Builder ran it on VP C12 and said it would have picked up on 93 but wanted to be safe.
    He was safe with the timing at 34* too.
    Plug showed it way out toward the tip.
    He started it with a 650 carb he had and had to switch to one of his dominators.
    Not sure on the size. I'll have to ask him.
    One of his guys said it was down almost 70 hp.
    This was wasn't for hero runs.
    It mainly was to break it in check everything out.
    Plus it's not built for N/A.
    Anyway it's FINALLY done!
    Just going to put in in and add some 87 to the tank (kidding but probably could at 9.12:1) and just drive it for the summer.
    I'll start fabb'n in the fall.

    Are you willing to share more about the engine? 600+HP out of a low compression 283! That is amazing.
