If you find a way to keep a woman happy all the time, write a book, you'll make enough $$$ to have all the cars you want!:bounce:

Lol I can write a book about how to F up a marriage and then salvage things and recover. Not recommend, it’s been a self induced struggle.

That would be a best seller, most people only get through the fucking up a marriage part.

Skip the book and go straight to the cliff notes most men can't / won't read a book

I know this isn’t really the place for this but.... I was selfish, I did whatever I wanted anytime and I refused to change my priorities after marriage and kids.

Then once it was all gone and I was on my own I realized my priorities were all screwed up and I’ve been fixing things ever since. I’m lucky to say I’m still married and my boys are 6 and 8, but we are doing well rebuilding relationships and trust. It seemed like I wanted away from her so bad till it happened and then I started realizing what I was throwing away. We all have that urge to get to the garage and make things happen however dont let it blind you to what’s really important.

Very well said, I went with my wife in high school for 3 years, screwed that up big time, ended up with a crazy bitch that wanted to keep spending money we didn't have, long story short, got rid of her, very expensive, and ended up marrying the girl from high school 25 yrs later. A very good christian woman and after 17 yrs, no fights or anything. Moral of the story, don't drink, don't marry a woman you meet in a bar.

you live and you learn . Sounds like an expensive lesson lol. Finding a normal woman is sometimes difficult. Hold on to her for dear life. I’m glad I have a normal one too.

Cool build (s), but honestly 15pages, 7years 10months and still no complete dyno pulls (I'm kidding).

This 15page thread kinda documents that, after X pages I was wondering where you get the time to do all this shit. There is a point in the thread the Buick pretty much got put on hold (due to the heads) and you got sidetracked or more specifically your passion and obsession (the good kind) for the Skylark build just turned into to a passion for builds. Or you always had tons of projects on the go and never mentioned any until then.
For the first 8 pages your priority seemed to be the Skylark but by page 9, flat beds, cube vans, trucks and trucks and trucks and more trucks. How many project vehicles have you had since you started this thread?
Don't get me wrong I loved reading all of it, I am not a truck guy, don't like them, hate driving them and never want to own one (just picture rolling it at high speeds taking a corner while asking myself why am I driving a truck) but love custom work and like reading about any custom vehicle work, I appreciate the effort and work done and there is always stuff to learn. That roll cage in the GMC pick up was really cool.

Hope to see the Skylark running the way you dreamed at some point.

Well this thread has taken a left turn...
Challenger is same for me. Still have the passion. Even after owning it since 83.
Would argue with anyone that I have the best wife of anyone. Reality is we have each other and I was lucky enough to recognize that.
Balance is difficult at times. But every day has its own priority list for the overall big picture.
With that said, it is time to get off this forum to watch my daughter play her college basketball game. Lol.

Yes I’ve had a ton of cars and trucks over the years. Over 40 vehicles LOL. My priorities are the kids, and the daily drivers, and with how much I work there often isn’t much time left for the Skylark. It will turn out great and I’m not really in a rush obviously. I do plan to get the car back on the road this spring with or without the good engine.

made a start on a 62 Galaxie. Covid hit. Sleepy Galaxie has been resting quitely in the yard for 2 years. Engine builder is hard at work on the 420 Windsor. Maybe something will get back on track.
