I'd be interested in other members opinions but I think an s475 would do what your asking, the standard 96mm 1.32 is around 700 USD, I have no idea what that is in loonies.

I don't think the 475 will meet his goal of 800 wheel at 12psi.

800 at 12 psi is roughly 440 na. A 475 compressor will be maxed out at that hp level. A 80mm would be a much better fit.

    Matchbot suggests the s475 is fine at 12psi, 800hp, out to 7000rpm: upload_2021-10-25_9-3-25.png #ad

Its ok up to 25psi then it starts to go off the map at 7k upload_2021-10-25_9-10-39.png #ad

s480 is better at the higher boost level upload_2021-10-25_9-5-27.png #ad

And closer to the efficiency islands at the lower level upload_2021-10-25_9-5-59.png #ad

I still think either is fine for the application. My guess is the s475 would spool a little faster, the s480 will make more power, but for 800 bhp its unnecessary and the cost difference is pretty significant.

That would be a little close to the right edge for my liking. If you're off on your ve numbers, or charge cooling efficiency, it could easily fall off the map. Spend the money once, and have a more efficient charger imo. I don't believe that there would be much of a spool difference on his setup.

I also think that's the wrong compressor. The std 475/96/1.32 is a 171702 which is this map if i'm not mistaken. 100s74.jpg #ad

And I am probably more concerned with turbine flow than I am compressor. I want a lower drive pressure without being terribly laggy. Over 40 psi drive pressure with 12 lbs of boost is terrible with the 83 mm turbine.

You're kind of in bad spot for a reasonably priced single. I think the 96mm will be substantially better, and there is a 1.58 turbine housing if needed.

It is looking that way. I appreciate the help guys. Looks like the S 480 for the win. LOL. probably won’t happen till spring anyways. I need to finish a ton of details on this thing first.

Well it took 2 months but my heads finally arrived. They are a work of art compared to the 440 source heads. Lol No surprise really. I immediately bolted them on and found my pushrods are a 1/2” too short. So I called Smith brothers and they said they will have a set out in a couple days. $191 plus shipping. What’s another couple hundred bucks at this point. Lol. Waiting on parts has become the norm. But those heads are purty.

Trick flow. 240 cc intake runners. There is a set with 270 cc runners that flows another 30 ish cfm but those require a larger intake manifold to take advantage of them.

I have been plugging away on the truck but progress has been slower than I would like. Took almost a month but got my pushrods. I assembled the motor and got a bunch of the smaller things taken care of. Turn the key on and the fuel pump just keeps running and then it back fires without even cranking it. I run a ancient EDIS ignition system and has been very reliable… Till now. I fooled with it and found that the module is toast. I can get it running if I short the crank signal wires together when I key on. Otherwise it sends a RPM signal and floods the motor. Once started it works fine. Bad thing is the EDIS 8 module is discontinued. I did find one used. It is coming but another holdup till it gets here.

I did get a chance to warm the motor up and make sure it has good oil pressure. It sounds great and has no fluid leaks. The headers have a small leak I will look into but it does run.

Fitting a 4 “ down pipe in a big block dakota was tight as hell but it is in. I do prefer the sound of the under hood turbo vs the remote it sounds more aggressive.
