I was looking at that first round of pics and wondering how you were getting them into place!

Sikky 9" set back shifter and a 3.5" pull back stick. Like it. Think I'm happy with the seat/pedal/shifter position. Sucks,I can't do the steering column until the cage is done.

I do! 62 Comet S22, stock block SBF with a single 78/75, home made blow through carb, built AOD, 8.8 cut down, looks like an old gasser/street rod. I'm in Prince Frederick.

I did not know what a S22 was. I looked it up and apparently you could order ( on all comets ) a 2 speed mercomatic auto trans. I did not know that Ford ever offered that, wonder if it had any potential? More than likely not I guess.
Brian you are gonna need a long mother steering column!

^ Online info puts the stock 62 at 2900-3000lbs,I'll be happy if I keep it close to that. But,I'm afraid it might end up a bit heavier than stock, fingers crossed it doesn't.

My car was an I6 originally, supposedly 24-2500 lb. At MIR with me in it I was 3000. All steel, kirkeys, no back seat, stock tank, subframe connectors, slapper bars, some added square tube cross members, AOD, stock block 347, stock steering box, 8.8 cut down, steel wheels. Hoping now I'm under 3k even with the turbo. I know if I ditched the AOD I could lose some weight but I got it cheap and I love the overdrive.

Tubs tacked in,and the pass side front extension done. Hopefully finish the driver's side tomorrow, reinstall the rear suspension and get it sitting on the tires. :2thumbs:

Tubs done! Rockers capped. :welder: The front tub extensions were a PITA to fit around everything AND line up the beads with the tub. One piece each side, one shot at it. Seam sealer to hide the gaps... Thank goodness for that!

Sitting on the tires! Everything looks good, except maybe the ground clearance under the 4 link x member at this ride height, 3.5" Guess I'll have raise it up at least an 1".

would you consider cutting the bottom of the crossmember radius off and reboxing it flat. you could probably trim an inch or so off the bottom without much compromise. That doesn't really help with the 4 link setup but would probably elimite taggin the chassis on something.
