Thanks! For comparison, when it ran 12.28 on nitrous (at this track) it ran 88 mph in the 8th and Judd was running 90+ with the boost ramping in 3 seconds into the run!

Oh yeah it’s got way more in it going by the mph. Converter is definitely holding you back.

    Sounds like a good weekend!
    What converter is in it?
I have a 3,000 stall and leaves kind of soft but hits full boost by about 100’
I can’t wait to get my converter back from Pete at Hughes!

It's an ACC, supposed to be 2200-2800, but is really 2000 with this weenie motor.

Were the first two runs to set the ladder? What did it run against the Buick?

You make as many passes as you want and they record your quickest as your qualifying time. Then they pair everyone up fastest to slowest. It's a crap shoot if you will end up with competitor that is comparable, faster or slower. I have only lost to my Buick 1 time and that was when this car had nitrous and I forgot which way was "armed" on the n2o switch.

It went 8.84 @ 90.4 in the final race. Buick tried to turn it up and blew a charge pipe.

Nothing to report right now. Local track is closed and we have been monkeying with other projects.

Judd is about done building a 318 Magnum for his Durango. 9.6:1, xr268hr cam, MP Magnum R/T heads (2.02 valve version), Hughes Air Gap intake, KB pistons, Eagle rods. Should really wake that truck up. The 83GT will serve as his daily while we swap the Magnum in the Durango.

I have been playing with my 98GT, test fitting the 460 and mocking stuff up. I need to drive the yellow truck and tune it, but I am waiting for my insurance guy to get back with me with a quote...

Me thinks we have a leak. Haha. Car still runs, but I think a head gasket is weeping into the valley. Not a whole lot, but enough to gunk it up. I think the problem might have been exacerbated by the fact we didn't have the cooling system completely full and by the fact our electric fan relay has been acting up. I know we got it hot once at Buick v. Ford when Judd let it idle for a very long time in the staging lanes. It's not leaking anywhere on the outside or out the exhaust, nor does it seem to be pressurizing the cooling system so it must not be too severe.

This isn't an E85 car right? Then yeah, you've pushed a head gasket or warped a head or block surface. That sucks.

Time to yank the intake and then the heads. If one has gone, the other's barely holding on.

Oh yeah. I figured this would happen at some point. I already have a set of gaskets. lol

Just another chapter in the life of this car.

Maybe I can get Judd to do all the work. Haha. :)

Haha. The oil doesn't look this bad. It's just dark dark dark brown. Not really milky looking, just dirty looking.

Plugs out, rockers off, pushrods out, header bolts out, and one header out.

Plugs 2 3 and 7, were really clean, almost too clean compared to the rest that were pretty black.

Also, I am totally going to move the engine to the front set (stock location) of engine mount slots when the heads are off. Doing so will make quite a few things fit and work better.
