Has anyone ever used or know someone who has installed a QA1 tubular k member? I'm about to get mine and was wondering if it will cooperate with my stock motor mounts if I need to get new ones it not a big deal. So unless it'll work or the modification is minor I'll get new. Does anyone on here know? Thanks guys.also what do u think of them?

I used one on my 85 way back. I didn't use stock mounts, but I'm pretty sure they will work with it. I assume you're talking about a Foxbody...

I think they make all types depends on which one you bought.

    I personally
I personally never owned one but I had a friend who put one on his 91 gt . It was daily driven in NJ for a couple years and he never had a problem with it.

I installed one on my '94 GT this summer along with their A-arms. It's a quality piece with excellent build quality. You can use your stock rubber mounts but personally; I'd go with Energy Suspension mounts. The factory rubber pieces often crack from the inside out. They are most likely due for replacement. The parts store rubber replacements are junk and manufactured by one Chinese company.

Their metal plates that bolt to the k member are engine specific. You just order the proper year Mustang K member and all you will need to purchase on top of that is poly motor mounts. See link below. Metal mounting plates to bolt urethane mounts to are in pic. Depending on if you are running coilovers up front or not; the A arm's offered differ. I believe QA1 only offer tubular A arm's for use with coilovers. That's what I run.

Cool and yes I already have coilovers my concern now is I have some bmr tube a arms and I want to know if they will fit with this k member. They r oem fit. I've heard from some they'll fit and qa1 says u must have their control arms but idk if thts just what they say to sell their parts.

The BMR arms will work but if I were you I'd sell the BMR's and buy the QA1's. Pieces like this I don't like to mix and match. QA1 did a lot of R&D when it came to their new k member/ A arm setup. They addressed A arm placement in regards to lowered Mustangs. They took care of the geometry for you. It's not a drag race only piece. It's designed to work well on the track and street. I prefer mild steel for double duty.

I keep forgetting that your car has a V6. I'm not sure about motor mounts and QA1 K member availability for it. The V8 K member will work if the motor mount plates bolted to each side of K member are compatible. The plates are interchangeable for different engines.

Should I get qa1 4.6 engine mounts and see if I am able to modify to work? Does anyone know how similar 4.6 engine mounts are to the 3.8? Appreciate any ideas

You might be right about the 4.6 mounting pads. If Ford used the same k member between the 4.6 and 3.8 which I believe they did then it should be close . The best way to check is to put the qa1 with 4.6 mounting pads and stock the stock k member next to each other and compare.
