New shoes for the car. 42 hits total on the old MT’s, time for some new ones. This time, I gonna give the Hoosiers a go. Seems like a lot of people like them for no prep! New boost controller worked flawless, pretty happy with it. Should be ready to head back and give her hell soon!

I hope they work good for you. Are those the 18140 drag radial? Here in St.Louis a lot of people like those.

they are 18140, but don’t think they are a drag radial. Just reg. Ol 28x9 bias ply slick

Well i'm looking forward to see how the bias slicks do for you. A lot of people say go drag radial , some say bias ply, so now you'll have a direct comparison.

I’d say, buy the tires that will work best on your local tracks. Here in SoCal, our local tracks are fucking crap 90% of the time! Radials struggle on a regular basis. IMO.
I’ve been 5.69 on radials, & 5.65 on bias plys. I’d like to run radials, but I think my car is more consistent on slicks.

first time out on the Hoosiers. Had two aborted runs in the middle, but I’m happy, gonna try to go back soon. Got some things to work on, so we can try to hit it harder. 5.68 hit was leaving on 3ish psi

Swapped to manual brakes, and got rid of all that junk stock master cylinder & booster, then slapped on some strange front drag brakes, also made the switch to Hoosier drag front tires, removing about 65lbs off the front end.

I’m planning to add a second battery to add 45ish lbs, back to the rear, to get the car closer to 50/50 bias. The batt will add weight, and also aid with 12v power.

Added the second battery, boy did the starter like that! Car seems to charge a little higher too, seem like it was in the low 13 range, 13.2-13.4, now seeing 14ish

Nice build with a lot of nice parts. I went to a 16 volt battery in my last dragster I had. The first time I hit the start button the damn thing scared the crap out of me.
