So just to be clear, because I feel like I have to be wrong here, but this reads like after 2 pages of bitching and screaming about this dudes work, and rewiring the entire car properly, you still took it back to him to tune it? Or is this the original tune from many many moons ago?
    Tell me i missed something.

    original tune from 2016

I've hardly got to drive this car much since I picked it up from this shop. It sat around almost all of 2018

Picked car up late 2016 then car sat over winter. 2017 tried driving it around but I kept having bad electrical issues. 2018 it sat around and November 2018 entire holley was rewired. I put the new rear end in the car after that and was ready to drive it at 12lbs since I had the suspension and tires for it.

Unfortunately, no. This week has been hectic. I have my computer at home so I can download the logfile. I'll post here when I do.

Just viewed the log. 31 degrees of timing at 11 psi, while accelerating, saw 13 to 1 a/f. Combination of way too much timing and going lean on top of it. Fuel pressure was good all the way through. Was this tune for race fuel or E85? Either way, it was still too much timing in my opinion. If you want to email me the tune I can make some changes you can try.

That looks like a tune for a NA setup...not a forced induction setup.

yes, exactly what I was thinking, but it was calling for 11.7 af, but the table was not correct and it hit 13 to 1 before the holley could react and correct it.

The tuner must not of had his head focused when tuning the car. I dont even know how it got past the dyno session with that much timing. The Holley setup really is a user friendly system and I suggest trying to learn the system as much as you can being the owner of the car. It's just too simple to tune it yourself....and to expensive to let someone else's mistake cost you a catastrophe like this one.

I've looked at the log again. when are you seeing the 13:1 A/F? this is a stick shift car so when I lift to shift gears the A/F changes for that split second. Back on the gas it goes where the ECU tells it to go

and yes the car was on Matt S. Bells Dyno tuned on 93Oct at 12lb of boost. Redline motorsports Bloomington Illinois. I clearly told matt this is a street car on 93 pump gas. So yes he knew

    that's a load of B.S.

Not focused? Ummm he is messing with peoples cars and those people have invested thousands of dollars in their cars so he had better be focused on every car that hits his rollers.

I am not a tuner that is why I paid a tuner to do their job to tune the damn car. Along with million other people that bring their cars to tuners. I know how to navigate the software fairly decent now but that doesn't mean I have the knowledge to know what numbers to put in all the different cells. again that is why I paid a tuner to do that for me. Like tons of other people do.

You'll have to show me where. Because the only time I see 13:1 is when I lift to shift gears.

Yes, tps was 100%, around 5k, first pull, commanding 11.7 or 8 and showing 13 for a split second then quickly moving down thru tge 12s to the 11s where it should have been. Unless you short shifted and the tps stuck, it was on a pull. When I get some time I'll find it and note the timestamp. I redid your parameters so I could see all the parameters I wanted to in the drag race panel.

I'll go back and look again. Does that split second it see's that effecting anything major? I was looking at the 2nd race and didn't see it there.

The main problem is the stupid high timing though. which killed this motor.

You can pay him whatever you want, but he still had his head somewhere else or is a complete moron when tuning a forced induction vehicle. The millions of other people that bring their cars to tuners better do their damn homework or else they will end up just like you....with a motor that's now toasted. Not everyone that "claims" to be a tuner knows WTF they are doing.

You said it yourself....Stupid high timing killed the motor. A Big Ass light bulb should have went off when looking at the timing table. That guy does get paid alot to perform the most critical thing when building a hot rod...he failed. So why defend him?

I've only shared few sentences with the person you are talking about.
He is also the same guy who runs a facebook group. He has low integrity on keeping things together.
Can't reason with or talk to the guy. He's a joker. Just stay away from him. Put him on the block list.

I don't think anyone was defending the tuner. I believe you read it as your comment was bs. I read it as it "bs for a tuner to not be focused." :dontknow:

The banter here about AFR needs to take actual AFR into consideration. The plug read has to rule over the O2 sensor. I target 12:1 at 22psi because the plugs tell me it's still fine.

    July 23,2019 update

The Block is at the machine shop getting honed so that we can determine which size pistons to purchase. I have ordered a Ed Curtis FTI custom hyd roller cam aswell. The cylinder heads have been repaired they had to take .02 off them. We are also going to deck the block .005 to to make sure all is good.

I hope to have the motor setting back in the car before winter. Once the motor is back in the car I have to trailer it to a fab shop for turbo crossover pipe repair. The flex joint needs to be replaced and he wants the motor in the car for that repair.

I made a visit to STLMUSTANGS here in missouri and spoke to the shop owner Bob Monks for about an hour going over my build. I will be taking the car to his shop for holley efi dyno tuning. Going to stay on 93 octane, the idea is to make as much boost as we can safely with 93oct. Whatever rwhp it makes (it'll make) We discussed going e85 with a flexfuel sensor but that would require bigger injectors and fuel pump. I am keeping that option open for the future. We also talked about pumping 110 lead in the car for a race fuel tune for when I want to take trips to mexico. Theres actually a gas station 2 miles from my house that sells it for around $6.75/gal
