So will a turbo for a 3.8 v6 mustang work my 2003 ford f150 4.2 manual because ive been thinking of turboing it.

 

It depends on the tuebo kit you have and where the turbo is placed

 

Do you know where i could find a kit like the site where you found yours

 

I made mine. To the best of my knowledge, there are nonoff the shelf V6 turno kits.

Don't know if you'll see this since it's been a long time but I love this project and am so interested by it. Has it been finished? Is it reliable? How much power does it make?. I drive a 2006 F150 with a 4.2l V6 and from everything that I've seen it's very close if not exact to the same engine you have. Do you think it would work if I were to do the same steps that you have? I'd like to make my truck fast and fun but nobody ever does anything with this generation of truck and you are the first and kinda only person i'v seen modify this engine which, again, seems to be very similar to mine!

 

The 4.2 is like a stroker version of the 3.8. Used to be more popular in the early 90s because of the 3.8 tbird supercoupes. Same family. The 4.2 also came in the 04 mustang too. People do modify them.

 

There used to be 2 forums for the v6 most of it was the 3.8/4.2 engine. I believe both sites are now history. I made 600 hp with sc block and crank. 351 hbeam rod and a Ross piston modeled after the sc piece.
