Digital 6 plus

    Hello all! New to the site and the turbo world, I am starting a fox body build it will have a 351w single turbo air to water intercooler turbo 400. My main question is I have a brand new msd digital 6 plus here on the shelf, I know it does not have a boost timing feature but is there any way to use it? Maybe piggyback something else with it? I am hoping I can use it and not lose money selling it to spend a ton on another box! Any input is greatly appreciated!

    If going efi, the ecu typically controls ign advance so it could be used as is.

    Sorry I did forgot to mention I was planning to go with a blowthrough! It seems like the cheaper way and easier to tune

    It looks like it has a retard feature in it for a total of 20 deg of timing retard if you unground the 4 wires that control it. Each wire pulls a certain amount of timing. I’m just brainstorming here but you might be able to use a normally closed Hobbs switch that opens under boost to use the timing retard. Maybe someone else wants to chime in here.

    I was mistaken on which box the one I was talking about is a msd 8975 retard control box . If it’s a 6520 you add 12v to one of the wires you get 10deg of retard and you can use the same theory with a Hobbs normally open switch
