Moved air temp sensor into passenger inner fender so I can get an accurate reading. Also bought some 3.5" v-bands so I can make a removable section of the downpipe just past the k-member. Should help a little bit. Also rerouted the hoses on boost control solenoids so that will work now. Trying to get exhaust done before Friday and hit the track this weekend for TX2K17 which is a big race here in Texas. Mostly imports, GTR's, Lamborghini's, Porsche's etc. I'll probably be one of the few fox body's. They do roll raceing on Thursday then the drags start on Friday which I'll be doing.

Made it out Friday night to TX2K17. Didn't make it in time for drag eliminations so just ran grudge racing after qualifying was over.

Only got two runs in but got my best time to date so I'm happy with that. I made a cutout in the downpipe just past the k-member so I can run open exhaust at the track, I also got the boost control up and running.

So my first run I had the 2-step set at 3500, no boost control so I could get a baseline. First run made 7.5 lbs boost on 2-step at 3500 rpm. Max boost in run was about 10.2. I spun hard off the line and once I hooked, my damn taillight fell off lol.

It also threw the belt at some point of the run so I had to leave the car at the end of the track on the return road, walk back to pit and get tools to fix it.

    First run
    1.9 60ft
    10.55 ET
    141.05 mph

After first run, a rat rod oiled down the entire length of the track so that took two hours to clean up.

Second run I set 2-step to 2800 to try and not spinoff the line since this was going to be my last run. Also I turned on boost control and had 5 lbs of co2 set for the top of the gate. Made 3.0 lbs of boost at 2800 and I had my best 60ft yet. With the boost control on, I made 13.2 lbs of max boost on the run.

    Second run
    1.43 60ft
    9.44 ET
    145.69 mph

    Another view of second run

Congrats on PB. It would have been super cool to see you run that exotic car in the left lane on the second video. You would have smoked it.

Been forever since i messed with the car but got back to the track this past weekend for a few runs. Its a different track and the prep was not very good so lots of traction issues but I did get my highest MPH I have ever run on one pass.

    First pass
    60ft 2.3
    1/8 8.0 @ 98mph
    1/4 13.2 @ 68mph

    Second pass
    60fh 1.6
    1/8 6.9 @ 110mph
    1/4 10.4 @ 143.7

    Third
    60ft 1.5
    1/8 6.2 @ 117 mph
    1/4 9.55 @ 147 mph, my fastest yet

    Forth
    60ft 2.2
    1/8 7.2 @ 114 mph
    1/4 10.6 @ 145.8 mph

So my 2-step was set at 2700 rpm due to traction problems. I was making 3.2 lbs of boost at launch and max boost was set at 13 psi. On my 9.5 run I only made 3.4 lbs of boost in first gear because I had get off the gas twice so who knows how much faster it would have been if the tires would have hooked better.

Oh by the way, I caught that camaro in the first video and beat him. the second video with the silver fox we were neck and neck but I passed him right before the finish and the third video you can tell what happened.

Enjoyed reading through the thread, it’s crazy how many of these threads go on for years and years, makes me not feel so bad about mine so far, it sure is frustrating building turbo cars, good to see you out enjoying it.

Yep still got it. Took it out a few months ago to the track and ran my best time so far, 9.40 @ 145mph. I finally changed the front shocks to some drag one and it really helped on the launch. The next run I turned up the 2step and broke the driveshaft at the line lol. I have yet to replace the driveshaft but I ordered a strange pinion yoke and installed that. Just need to measure for the new shaft and get it installed.

Have to post them on youtube and link hear. Easiest way to do it. That is flat out flying. Congrats. I broke my driveshaft as well, I went to mark williams 9" style pinion yoke and billet input, with a denny's nitrous shaft driveshaft and never had another issue running 1.26 60 ft with a stick shift.
