Posted here months ago while cussing this thing together with some help from wifey and friends...

Need to learn how to drive but went 11.6 @122 on a 1.9 60' and no boost for the first 100'. The impressive part is the car drives stock and is so quiet no one pays any attention to it until boost hits. On 10lbs I ran with a Hellcat and with 14lbs on Nitto drag radials it will destroy the tires at 50 MPH on the street and is insane to drive.

Nice run. Purposely staying out of boost right after launch, just wondering?

I am working on building boost at the line, this was the third time down the track with it and just creeping up on it. I have a two step setup for next time out and start getting serious about tuning timing/fuel, things are very conservative right now...

    TurboBu,

These are my favorite builds to watch progress. Great job so far! Once you can leave with a little boost you be in the 6's no problem.

Thanks! I am on the path for 6s. Is just unreal how much power stock junk can make with the new electronics controlling it. The best thing I ever did was stop worrying and start driving it...

Amen to that, I just beat the crap out of mine and don’t even worry about it anymore. If it breaks, it breaks. I built it, and I know how to fix it.

Good progress... Bet that sucker has 5's in it once it's ironed out. Little JY 4.8 went 6.00 last outing...

I heard the turbo whistling off the line, got to be making a little boost. Might need more converter.

Also time to step up to a Mickey Thompson.

I am pretty sure the rear will give before anything else so I am saving it with the Nittos, it is a GN rear with Strange axles and 3.73s. Also we get a lot of rain in Florida and it has to deal with that. I would be happy for the near future with solid 10 sec pass. Also it is very important the car acts right and is reliable enough to really drive. Shit breaks but I would rather wear it's ass out first ....

Nitto’s are a great tire IMO. Not quite as much initial sticking power at the track. But they don’t feather up like the softer MT radials on the street and try to kill you. Also last 5x as long.

In my experience on the street, they actually work better than a MT radial. You just need a way to limit the power spike when boost comes in over 1.5-2 seconds to stop them from spinning initially. 2 stage boost controller would be the cheapest route. Could make one for less than $20.

Boost by speed and timing control is what I use on my mustang. 132mph trap speed on my 245/16 tire street car. Dead hooks on the street ad looks “stock”.

    Good luck!

Glad to hear from another fan of the Nitros I live them compared to the BFGs I had before. I have the Dominator setup on mine but still dialing in the boost controller. The boost lag and rear gear make for a great launch on the street until 50mph then I need to slow the ramp down a bit ..

Forcefed86 I have been following your build while mine we been patched together, I just could not believe how much turbos and tuning have been refined on the cheap. My dad was into turbos in the 70's and said they would be awesome if you could control the timing correctly...looks like he guessed right on that...In the early 90s we used to pass 5.0s with a draw through 2.3, on race gas is was a lot of fun as a kid riding in that thing...

Quick update.. new best of 11.1 @ 125 on 15 psi with pump and w/m. Still a damn 1.9 60' which should be better with new adjustable bmr lca brackets...

Easy mid 10s and still same shitty long block coming soon.....

Your rt there if you get the 60' in the 1.45/1.5 area.
Times in my sig are with a 1.45 60' coasting through the traps.
