Been quite a while since I have posted/ updated this thread.
Project was on hold do to other life priorities.
So here we go with the current state of the 62 ,
In the process of adding electric power assist steering and a new column setup with a quick disconnect steering wheel to facilitate climbing over the bolsters on the Kirkey seats.
I have removed all the rear suspension and am in the process of installing a 4 Link , with a 10" narrowed 9" axle.
Tubbing the rear fender wells up to the frame rails to facilitate the running 18" wide MT's on the rear .
Having Moser machine the axle's while I am doing the housing and building the diff.

Once I finished with the cutting it was out with the old back half of the frame and in with the new 4 link setup .
The last pics are a couple of shots of getting it all tacked up and squared up in preparation for welding. IMG_20180511_111044596.jpg #ad

Got the rear end finished and sitting on the suspension Stance is about right. I ended up having to get 250# springs for the coil overs to get the sag right .The rear end turned out beautiful but I was informed that it most likely won't be robust enough , bummer. That was a lot of money wasted as I will need to replace both the axles and the complete third member again . At least it will work for getting the truck set up and drivable. IMG_1168.jpg #ad

Well, Its been a long time since I have made any progress on this build.
    Finally back on it .
So here is where we are at today. 62 Cab Mount 1.jpg #ad
Fitting up the new passenger side cab mount after cutting out the rusted out old mount and cab floor. 62 Cab Mount 2.jpg #ad
Here it tacked into place with the new mounts and ready for final welding. Steering Box Mock up.jpg #ad
First test fit of the electric power steering assist, we didn't like how it hung down below the dash in this position. So after checking all the angles to make sure there would be no binding. I flipped the unit 180 degrees and tucked it up inside the dash. Steering Box Final.jpg #ad
Fully supported by the pedal box and out of the way of my shins. Cab Setup.jpg #ad
And this is the cab mockup for the seat and quick connect steering wheel .
Next up are the frame to rocker panel cage mounts and on to the main cage.

Its a good idea to clean the old rusty metal off before you weld in new material.

Glad to see the build moving!

Spent about 20 hours or more bending and fitting the cage into the cab. Worked very hard to tuck it in tight , rolled the rear hoop and brow bar to match the curve of the windows. Brow bar ended up being Version 4.0 as the first 3 tries just didn't tuck in and fit as good as I wanted. Now its on to the dash bar and the rear supports to the rear frame.

I cut out the rusted metal back to clean steel and had ground it all down to clean metal for welding.
It's my picture taking that stinks !

Well The main part of the roll cage is finished and in so now it is on to plumbing the truck.
First pic shows the installed fuel cell along with the bracket that will hold the fuel pump.
Second pic shows the plumbed up fuel and return lines with the inline filter feeding the A1000 pump.
