Hello all: This is my next build. 60' caddy with a 6.0 lq4 and Twin GT35's and a 4L80e trans. I have the car and the motor and the trans so far and am getting the caddy ready for the Transplant. This is just my starting post but I build pretty fast once I get going. Here are a few pics so far. shop (4).jpg #ad

That shop is awesome. First item to work on for me would be the brakes, those drums would scare the bejeebus out of me. Maybe consider a swap away from 5X5 to 5X4.75 at the same time, it's easier to find parts for.

Besides that, should be a fun build. Gonna leave it like that or paint it up all pretty like?

I was thinking as soon as I saw the heading on the build: "Hopefully he goes for the whole frame/floorpan swap" I'd be lining up a Caprice or even a Crown Vic as a donor for all of the "main" parts of the build. Lorne

I would think the B-chassis would be a lot better choice if only because there's a chance that some of it may line up. I would still think the wheel base of this would be longer, but that's just a guess.

Love it! Nice dry straight body as well. Can't wait to see more of this build!

I think it was a west Texas car. Lots of sun and no rain?? I have a full donor truck, 2002 Suburban 3/4 ton 2x4 with a 6.0 and a 4L80e trans, I will also use the Hydroboost, wiring harness and radiator, and whatever else I can salvage, I will be doing 4 wheel disk also. My plan is a semi autocross car. I know it sounds a bit crazy but I want this Land Yacht to handle. Min. 18 in. wheels and 14 in. rotors, wide tires and at least 10" wide rims.

I got the car lift for free. It was removed from a brake shop and thrown out. There were 5 other ones with it. They went to all 2 post lifts.

They are HARD to find for sure! I have a '59 and would NEVER do this to it.... BUT, to each his own. I have to admit though, I think it would be way cooler to see it done with the Caddy frame.
