Went to go for a ride the other day and noticed the front right tire and wheel looked tilted weird. Looked underneath front end just because and found my lower TRZ a arm was broken. Lucky catch. Could've been a bad day. Guess it's time to upgrade to the .120 wall lower arms. 4000 miles of the roads up here finally got to them. Found a crack starting on the driver's side lower in the same spot.

New update. Had converter tightened up over the winter and just went to the track for first time finally and found out how it works. Even though I went with substandard E73 fuel since my local station has been failing at getting the numbers up was a good weekend. Pulled a hair more timing and backed the boost down under 20 psi to start.

Made 4 passes total. First pass 9.39@149 made 19 psi and left like a bus full of fat kids. Tuneup is way to fat on the brake so it just won't build boost. Second pass 9.37@149. Same issues but repeatable and mph is considerably better even with less power. Third pass I let it sit on the brake for a couple seconds. Finally left with a better but still anemic 1.46 60' and went 9.10@150. Fourth pass I clicked boost controller 1 more notch which ended up making 20 psi. Left with a 1.45 60' and went 8.98@153.

More than happy with the converter change. The thing went same mph with 4 psi less boost and finish line rpm is down over 400 rpm from last year same mph. I think with some tuning on the launch it will do low 8.80's easy without turning up the boost. Once I get some good fuel and get that under control I'll turn up the boost and see what it will do then. Should be a good summer.

Great to hear the new converter is working. What type did you go with? Did you calculate the new slip?

It's a 10" Ultimate and I just had Lenny tighten it up. Slip was down to 15% from 25+ Last year and it gained no rpm between the 150 and 153 mph passes so should be good when I put some more power to it.

Well out last weekend got a new best mph out of this thing. The 1/8 mph on the one pass was really moving at nearly 129. Going to have to upgrade turbos at some point though. Upped boost from 24-26psi and it didn't change anything so I think they are finally out of gas as far as this setup goes. Also launches are soft and can't figure it out. I think it is a fuel issue. I know its not too rich anymore as I fixed a leaky BRPV that was dumping fuel on the brake. It builds fine on the brake not and hits the two step but when I launch it just hangs and takes 2 seconds to hit max boost. Used to do it in under a second. Sure leaves a lot of ET on the table but hope to get it sorted out.

That’s pretty awesome! Have you checked back pressure? How are the charge temps?

You could pick up a pair of the VS racing 78/75’s for $400 each. Pretty smokin’ deal. Many out there making 700-750ish whp with one of them on LS setups.

Backpressure wasn't an issue last time I had the gauge hooked up and being the boost controller isn't having an issue raising the boost I am sure the compressors are just making more heat at this point. Tuneup is good as the plugs look great and afr's are good so I think I'll just run it at 24psi and get the 60ft and 330ft times down. I'm sure it'll go a low 8.70 and maybe 8.60 something if I can get it to come in quicker.

Well it did have more in it. Found out bringing fuel in quicker with the BRPV coming off the transbrake picked up a bunch. Went to last Test and Tune today. Best pass of the day Left at 3.5 psi and it made 26psi 1.4 seconds in and went 8.57@159. Next pass cut a perfect .000 light and went 8.62@158 but it spun a bit through the first 100ft. Also finding this Fuelab 41403 pump can move a lot of E85. Afr's stayed 11.2-11.3 throughout the run. Great way to end the season.

Well working out the small bugs it keeps getting faster. Ran 8.50@160 last weekend can’t complain for a bunch of old junk. Have to put it on a big diet and redo the chassis maybe someday as that’s about it for the cage cert.

Very cool! Great to see it's still together after all this time! Same boost level?

Yes same total boost level on that pass. Just left on a bit more. Next pass I was going for more and left at 8.5psi, it stuck then just sat at 8.5 for 2 seconds and then took off. Made just under 28psi and still went 159mph. Got a good plug read and everything is fine still at that boost. Going back in a few weeks if it’s nice and going to let it rip and see what happens. I’m sure there’s a low 8.4Xin it at least.

Two years later. Same bunch of old parts. Put new Viking DA shocks on and got a new PB out of the old truck. 8.48@159 and it still spun a bit at the hit. Also it was only on 26psi which was less than before when it went 8.50.
