So I took in my 351w to get the short block rebuilt. On the request I asked for forged Pistons. The pistons they had for that motor was Keith black forged pistons. So I called up there after I already dropped off the motor. if they were dished or flat tops. She told me flat tops with valve reliefs. Which I think will raise my compression ratio to 10.5.1 or somewhere around that. I do plan to boost this motor. She gonna call Monday and see what the compression ratio going be with them. My question is do Keith black make forged pistons? Doing some research and can find anything? Or should I go with something else?

 

I think Keith Black forged are the Icon line.

Don't settle for something you don't want. Ask them to order the correct pistons for the compression ratio and goals you want. Have the engine made the way you need, not the way that best benefits the builder.

 

That's what I'm gonna do monday Is give them a call. Been looking at a set of speed pros dished. Think will be ideal with the 64cc heads I have.

 

Avoid Keith Black Hypereutectic pistons like the plague. Icon are the forged KB's .

 

I had bad luck with those.

 

Yeah did some research, and lot of people hate them. Just told my builder to go with a set of speed pros. They're right around the same price range.
