Hey, is the truck getting painted? Tought i read that but not sure now with seeing all the interior going in?

 

Yeah i had just finished painting my cage, once it was cured completely couple weeks late I thought the blue tape would be an excellent idea low tack and it would pull off. I left it on of a while and when I went to pull it off there was no joy. It would not come of and i even used thinners at one point. Had to repaint everywhere that the tape was on. It did come of the BC/CC on the floor but it took alot of work to remove it. I would hate to see that happen to someone else. Its ok for a short while but after that man alive.

bubble wrap it where you can, I ended up using a 6inch foam sil gasket i had laying around at the end it got a repaint.

 

Yes the outside is getting painted the same candy brandy wine but we're going to get it together and get turbo kit built and then we will blast it spat and paint it! Should be able to just tape up all the inner and paint it! Just didn't want to paint out side till turbo brackets and roll pans and all that shit is done! For sure doing it ass backwards but like I said before it was never supposed to go this far

Thanks guys for the kind words, well I got a little done, got the shifter all done, mounted the electronic board to start finishing the wiring and then we decided on wheels and ordered them, we got weld v series double bead lock all polished , the ones in pic of bottom row and middle, then got the 17 inch all polished fronts, then we got brand new 275 pro and the mickey fronts and all the stuff to finish transmission cooler. Waiting on wheels still, suppoesdly April 14, but also changed our minds on the 9 inch and we're just building a 8.8, also purchased a set of strange front brakes which I need to get a pic of

Sorry guys I didn't know about the new image uploading, so much better then having to use stupid Photobucket lol, now it makes me want to update even more lol
Also change plugs on injector harness, also got the regulator mounted and fuel system done but these are the only pics I have right now

We'll guys have been awhile since a update, well if you follow my nerd build thread you seen that James let me borrow his 408 and I made 1032whp with it on my single 80mm and went 5.20 with it and a wheelie got away from me and I busted the oil pan so pulled it and put new oil pan and new jfr racing camshaft! Also got the wheels in final and the rear end is almost finished, we decided to say screw it and build a 8.8!

 

So damn clean, I have been looking forward to seeing updates from this build. Damn good work!

 

This thing is so sweet. super clean. right down to the wiring. cant wait to see it all come together. The rear end looks good all braced up. been thinking about bracing mine.

Well guys got some updates, we got the rear end installed and the wheels and tires on the truck and the roll pan mounted, and I brought the truck to 417 Motorsports to get the turbo kit done! Supposed to get it back in a week or so!

 

Sexy looking truck man... I can't wait to do this to my Gen-1 Tacoma. What housing ends are on that 8.8?

We'll guys blake at 417motorsports is kicking ass on turbo kit and getting radiator and all the little stuff done on it! He did a bad ass radiator with brushless spal fans with bad ass shroud!

 

Sorry if I missed it but water/meth instead of an intercooler?
